Bobcats & Cavaliers are in extended talks about swapping draft picks. Cavaliers would send picks #4 & 24 to the Bobcats for pick #2. Who the hell are the Cavs desperate to get? I think they'd be better off staying put, no? I think Beal is the 2nd best player in the draft. The question is what do you typically get in the late 1st round? A rotation player? I know this draft is deep but I'd have no problem moving up to ensure Beal.

Even over Kidd-Gilchrist. I'll also throw one wildcard out there. I think there's a chance they take Lamb at 4.

I hate to bet against his motor ... but tough to stomach drafting a wing who doesn't have a jumper. My guess is Barnes is ahead of MKG on their board. I like Lamb as a trade down target. Love his scoring skills and length but where was his #want this year? At the end of the day, the NBA is about stars so I think it's worth moving up to secure Beal.

Dion Waiters is the newest rumor?
And OKC wants Beal?

Waiters is intriguing, but 4 just seems too high for him.

Waiters? 12.6 ppg Waiter? I'd be pissed.
I can't think of a single useful pro to come out of Syracuse in a decade besides C. Anthony.

Cavs might trade Andy V to Houston for the 12 pick.

I'm fine with trading him. He's limited honestly, and won't be young when team is ready to contend.

V has a nice contract and he is a useful player who has some productive years left. But if we could get a Myers Leonard for him, or maybe even a Tyler Zeller, I'd be cool with that.

Hoping the big board looks like this:
1 Davis 2 Beal 3 Barnes 4 MKG

I'd like MKG more at 4 if I knew we could pair a shooter like Lamb or Vandy's Jenkins at 24.

I'm glad we finally took a player I've heard of.

2nd year in a row the Cavs have shocked at 4 by going for a sabermetric stud.

I've seen a few, including Chad Ford, compare him to DWade. I've seen others say he won't be able to drive and create shot in NBA. His ceiling seems to be really high. Hopefully this is our Westbrook pick. Zellers is a solid pickup. He will be a productive, not great, Center for a decade, not bad at all for mid teens pick.

I was hoping the Cavs would walk away last night minus Andy V. & plus MKG, Lamb, & Fab Melo.
Yeah, not so much.

Here's why I'm ok with not trading AV last night. He will bring more once the trade deadline draws near. They are still shopping him now. Also, let's hope the Kings take a big step and have a pick outside of the top 10 next year. That gives us 3 1sts next year. Not to mention we can swap the Heats pick with the Lakers if the Lakers have a better pick. Lots of ammo going forward.

It all starts with ownership.

He's still productive and has a very team-friendly deal.

There's a particular draft guy who relies on sm stuff and he had Waiters ranked super high. I'll look for the link when I'm at a computer.

I'm happy to still have Andy on the team. I think he's got plenty of time left in this league. And I think he and Zeller can be special together. Such high energy guys - opposing bigs are gonna get real sick if chasing those two spazzes all over the court.

Yeah, can you imagine Andy getting bottled up on a pick & roll by one of the defense minded centers & kicking the ball out to Zeller? I think they'll be on the floor together often & it's gonna be fun to watch. Zeller, while maybe no "superstar", was the most complete center in the draft. All the others seem to be either "offense deficient" or horrible at the free throw stripe. Ol' "Happy with our draft" Dad
