Barnes & Melo for me.
Two gambles that could both be huge.
I love all Cavs fans crying conspiracy right now. HELLO that's how we got Lebron AND Kyrie.

I really like Melo too. Reminds me soo much of Andy, and he's got even better size. Zellers an interesting prospect too, if we can move up from 24.

Barnes, Beal, Drummand or Thomas. All good choices.

Not a Drummand fan. I'd honestly rather have Fab Melo. Barnes will flourish in this system.

I wonder if Landry Jones would make the switch to basketball? I'd take him at four.

I'm thinking it goes ...
1 - NO - Davis
2 - CLT - Robinson
3 - WAS - Beal
4- CLE - Barnes
I know some folks are down on Barnes but I like him. He might not be a star but should be a productive pro for a long time. Has size and athleticism to defend SFs and has a good shot and scoring skills. Poor handle, though ... Kyrie will make him look good

Barnes is a perfect fit for this offense. Think Richard Jefferson and Stojakovic from NJ and NO. They are clearly getting guys for Scott's system.

I think part of the problem with Barnes, from a fan perspective, is he didn't live up to the massive hype. That doesn't mean he isn't a very very good player.

I saw him drop 40 on Clemson in the ACC Tournament last year. With Kendall Marshall, he looked like a first-team All-ACC talent (which he was) ... and last time I checked Cleveland had a pretty good point guard.
Is he a first-team All-NBA guy, no? But if he is a Richard Jefferson with a better shot that will be very nice. I've heard scouts compare him to Sean Elliott and Glen Rice.
I think Beal is the second best player in this draft and I would take him over Barnes, but I think he goes No. 2 or No. 3.

I believe Beal and/or Barnes will be there at #4 & I also believe they are the absolute 2 best options for the Cavs. Scott, along with Kyrie, will certainly bring out the best in Barnes AND help him improve his weaknesses. Both these guys provide outside scoring ability which the Cavs need, ESPECIALLY from the small forward spot. Barnes is the guy I think will be there at 4 and, given his position, could well be the ideal pick for the Cavs. We'll soon see. Ol' "Hoping for a S/F who can hit the jumper on a kick-out" Dad

I would be happy to come out of this draft with BeK, Mkg, or Barnes. So odds are we are taking Robinson.

Sullinger probably shouldn't even be drafted.
~ He's soft
~ He doesn't have a legit position
~ He has the same hops as me
~ He has back issues

Sullinger is, IMHO, the most consistently over-rated player in this draft. I think he's free agent material or damn close to it, even with NO back issue. Ol' "Sullinger a lottery pick my ASS!" Dad

Dad Yeah I have some major concerns on how his game, especially defensively, will translate. He's like a very poor man's Elton Brand. But if he's there at 24 I might have to think about him.

One thing I like about Barnes over some of the shooting guards is his defensive potential at small forward. He's 6-8 with a 6-11 reach and had the second best vertical leap at the combine and best sprint time. East is loaded with wings like LeBron, Paul Pierce, Luol Deng and Danny Granger who need to be defended and I think Barnes can be the guy to do it. What I don't like about Barnes? I think Beal and Lamb are better shot creators and I'm not sure how much Barnes can improve in this area.

The creating shot thing is a big knock on Barnes, but again I think with this system he would excel. Having a PG like Kyrie makes getting a shot a bit easier, and as I mentioned before, Scott has made guys with far less talent look pretty good in his system.

Like Kendall Marshall, Kyrie will make Barnes or Beal or whoever else look better than they really are. I agree. I really like Barnes. I just think he has flaws that limit him from being a "franchise player" that said he's still going to be Glen Rice/Sean Elliott which is a really good player. I'll be very happy with Barnes or Beal. I would not be happy with Kidd-Gilchrist. I don't want a wing who can't shoot. Honestly, I'd rather have Jeremy Lamb than Kidd-Gilchrist.

You know who Kidd-Gilchrist reminds me of? Larry Hughes. There's a place for a player like that but I prefer a guy that can shoot from that spot.
Barnes might not be a franchise type player but I think he can be a good 2nd or 3rd option for a team. I'll take that over some of the crap that has come out of the top 10 lately.

Agreed. I think Barnes is maybe the second safest pick in the draft after Davis. You know you are getting a quality guy who can start on a playoff-caliber team. I think Beal is a fairly safe bet, too.
I see some Larry Hughes and some Gerald Wallace in Kidd-Gilchrist's game. He'll be a useful player but I prefer someone who can space the floor ... and defend.
I wish Jeremy Lamb showed some more fire. I like his scoring skills, stroke and length.

Bobcats & Cavaliers are in extended talks about swapping draft picks. Cavaliers would send picks #4 & 24 to the Bobcats for pick #2.
Who the hell are the Cavs desperate to get? I think they'd be better off staying put, no?

It's just like TRich tommy. They love Beal and don't want to lose him. A rumor not being mentioned is them using their seconds to move back into the first with a team up against the luxury tax. OKC being a possibility.
