Rumors are swirling that the Cavs signed Andrew Bynum. like a done deal or are interested? I heard he isn't even working out for teams. Do they need to spend money to hit the floor? maybe that's why, a one year deal to reach the salary floor, if it works great, if not who cares.

Not sure on the floor mikey. Sounds close if not done. Mavs are the other team going hard.

Cavs have offered Andrew Bynum a 2-year deal potentially worth $24-million.

I'll be very surprised if we get Bynum. If they land him I think winning a playoff series this season becomes a not totally insane goal. There's gonna be a lot of bad teams this year - orgs slashing salaries to make runs at LeBron and Melo... orgs tanking for Andrew Wiggins in the draft. In the East we might be looking at a 40 win team getting the 6th seed.
Whatever happens with Bynum I'm looking forward to watching the team this year. Jarrett Jack is an exciting pickup - fun player to watch. If Irving stays healthy our 3 man rotation there is a rock solid backcourt.

I thought the plan was to offer 1 year so we had some money freed up for 2014?

If Bynum is healthy the Cavs could conceivably have the top pg and the top center in the league. That's a big if with those knees, but this is an unquestionably great move or the Cavs. Year two is a team option, and there's only 6 mil guaranteed this first year. That's what Luke Walton made last year. Definitely getting league pass this year.

Let's be completely honest, by the end of the year there is a good chance Kyrie, Varajeo & Bynum are on the bench in street clothes as all are injury prone. But if they all are healthy this team might be a playoff team that could actually win a series (save the they could challenge in the East bullshit). I might be one of the few who doesn't want Lebron back but I really don't. I'd say ideal is Bynum has a good year along with Kyrie, they move Varajeo but injuries still force them to suck. They get one more lottery pick, team it up with this group and take on fuck face in 2014-2015 whether he is in Miami or LA.

The key to this team making a run is like you said staying healthy but equally important is who is running the offense. Mike Brown is a stale coach when it comes to offense and i'm not sure who he hired as his OC.
