I would take Manny, him and Hafter platooning DH may sound silly but we don't have hitters better than either and could keep them both healthy. Agreed Paul. You'd have a lefty and a righty bat to either DH or pinch hit. Now, hypothetically speaking, suppose one of them was actually a giant snake. Where would you bat them in the lineup? I put both in clean up and build the line up around them. Just by rep they get respect and make the 3 &5 better.

Manny can't play the field anymore. You alternate them, if one gets hot ride it out. They are both streaky anymore.

Eventually, opposing pitchers would figure that out.

I doubt it, most MLB pitchers suck and just by facing a guy with a name they blow it. That is why MLB has such a high turnover. Baseball is mostly mental...ever throw a curveball that is right and hits the plate?

So I assume the Indians are done making moves. Nothing sexy but solid moves. IF they stay healthy I think they are in the race all season long and might be a surprise come playoff time.
The OF is a strength. Brantley, Sizemore, & Choo have never been healthy at the same time. Their middle infield is a big time strength with Cabrera & Kipnis. 1B & 3B are the biggest question marks but I expect Chisenhall to have a decent year & Santana to hit 35 HRs or so.
You never know year to year on a bullpen but it looks very solid again. And the starting pitching stacks up nicely 1-5, especially if the rumors are true that Ubaldo's struggles last year were due to an early season groin injury.
I think it could be a fun summer. 90 wins or so is a possibility if they stay healthy.

The Indians sure aren't messing around with getting some arms.
Not only did they added Derek Lowe, Kevin Slowey and Jon Garland to a rotation consisting of Ubaldo Jimenez, Justin Masterson & Josh Tomlin (-fake Carmona of course) they are now talking with Yankees about acquiring A.J. Burnett. Travis Hafner would be the big piece going to NY.
You'd have to think they have something else in the works if that were to go through, perhaps to get another bat.

You can't put a lineup out there that is going to compete with Detroit, so you beat them with pitching. Not a bad formula. Defensively they are very very solid.

There might be a trade in the works involving Pronk and AJ Burnett.

My thought though, is there would have to be something else in the works to get another bat.

It appears the Hafner-Burnett rumor is Whitney Houston.

Here we go:
Grady Sizemore unlikely for opening day (lower back strain). Currently shut down from all baseball activities, injured the region 2 weeks ago.
