You say that now, but when the Indians have 25 blown saves at the end of the year and miss the playoffs by 1 game you'll change your mind. You've got to figure closers are responsible for around 50 games a year. A good one will win 40 or more of those. You can't tell me one bat in the lineup is solely responsible for 50 games a year. Don't get my wrong, i think this team def. needs a bat and i'm not apposed to trading C. Perez, i just hope they have a viable second choice. The difference between Perez and a less than average closer could mean 15 - 20 games in the W column this season. I know you aren't telling me Chris Perez is worth 15-20 wins per year for the Indians. Have you heard of the stat "WAR" ? Stands for wins above replacement. The most valuable pitcher in the game last year was Roy Halladay with 8: www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&type=6&season=2011&month=0Relief pitchers don't even come close to starting pitchers or hitters in that category. I'm not saying a closer isn't valuable in that it stabilizes the whole bullpen but look at last years best closers and tell me you saw it coming: Valverde, Axford, Kimbel, Putz, Storen, Hanrahan, Cordero, League, Nunez..... It's a lot easier to find a closer who has a good year than to find a good young bat.

Sipp, Pestano, or Joe Smith could close diz. The Thing is I think it would take Perez and an arm from the farm system. I would do it. Trumbo is under team control for 5 years, plays plus 1b, and hits for power. I would love this move, even if it meant giving up Perez, which it would.

The Angels are going to try to make Trumbo a 3b, but what I am hearing is that Pestano and Chisenhall would get that deal done right now. If they can't work out something for Trumbo, then Kendy Morales is a distinct possibility also. These two teams making a move just makes too much sense. The Angels need bullpen arms, the Tribe needs 1b pop, both teams have a surplus of each.

So the A's trade All-Star closer Bailey and an average OF for 3 highly rated prospects from the Red Sox. I'm telling you, Perez value is never going to be higher than it is now.

Giving up Chisenhall in that deal would be stupid. It just opens up another hole

Giving up Chisenhall in that deal would be stupid. It just opens up another hole I don't think they'd need him in the deal, my guess is it would be built around Perez with a minor leaguer or two. The Angels are a closer away right now and they know it.

Tribe signed 1B Casey Kotchman. Never has lived up to his potential. Left handed bat. I'm guessing he'll play 1B vs. RHP & Carlos Santana will play 1B vs. LHP. This might end the LaPorta experiment.

Curious. Would anyone be interested in adding Manny Ramirez? I'm open to the idea.

Maybe we could get Justin Hamilton next year after he gets back from falling of the wagon! If i was him i would argue that his coach got caught doing coke and nothing happened. Fucking racist shit, lead by example mother fuckers.

I would take Manny, him and Hafter platooning DH may sound silly but we don't have hitters better than either and could keep them both healthy.

You'd have a lefty and a righty bat to either DH or pinch hit. Now, hypothetically speaking, suppose one of them was actually a giant snake. Where would you bat them in the lineup?
