Baseball's free agency season is upon us. It looks like the Tribe are going to make a serious push this year to compete. I think we all agree that what they need is a corner outfielder, one if not both corner infield positions, and at least one of these moves has to have some pop. So who do you want?
Me, I would like to see Aramis Ramirez brought in for a two year run at third so Chisenhall can develop a bit more. I'm also going after Cudyer. I think he would be my priority. His bat has some pop, he can play both corner outfield and first. I think he is a perfect signing for this team. He won't break the bank, you can plug him in the 6 hole in the lineup, and he offers flexibility.

Tommy, so far Cuban field players haven't had a ton of success in the bigs. I like Brantley in center personally.

The Indians have inquired about the availability of the Mets David Wright.

The Indians have inquired about the availability of the Mets David Wright. That's actually one of the guys I thought they might go after. Pretty big contract and he loves New York. Long shot.

I think I figured out a way to get Bonds and Griffey in the same outfield.

This team makes the playoffs the past 2 years if they would have signed Bonds.

Yeah Tommy he would be my primary target right now. Plays a position we need, has the bat we need, he would be a huge signing. If you get a bat that you can plug in the 4 hole, this lineup gets so much better. We have good bats, they are just all batting out of place. A lineup of Brantley, Asdrubal, Carlos, Aramis, Choo, Hafner, fill in the rest could be damn good.

Then trade Cabrera to the Raiders for Crabtree.

Ummm... sign Pujols and Reyes. Duh. We should have had Reyes in the Alomar trade but Shap was trying to keep winning. We wouldn't have gotten Trabor or Phillips but Tallot and Reyes for Alomar I think would have been ok.

Can we bring Chief Wahoo back now? The Tribe hat I wear has the Chief on it, if that makes you feel better.

www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2011/12/indians_know_their_needs_but_h.htmlA few things: - When did the Indians resign Sizemore? If the Indians signed Willingham, it would definitely cause some changes. He would be the starting left fielder for sure, which would push Michael Brantley into a head-to-head competition with Grady Sizemore in center field, or to the bench, or Class AAA Columbus in anticipation of Sizemore's first trip to the disabled list. This sounds promising: Other outfield options such as Jason Kubel, Coco Crisp and Cody Ross remain. If the Indians are having trouble affording Willingham, Cuddyer is definitely out of their reach.I would like this though: Houston talked to them about Carlos Lee last week at the winter meetings. Lee is making $18.5 million in 2012, and the Astros would have to get much more than half that to make a deal work.
