Indians have picked up '13 option for Ubaldo Jimenez. Options for Travis Hafner & Roberto Hernandez declined.

When you just look at what they'll pay Jimenez for 2013, you might say why not. But after you review his stats and then realize this gives him a player option for 2014 for even more money, you just will shake your head even more at this front office.
Good for them for letting Hafner walk. A retard on crack could have made that decision.

They could resign Hafner at a lower rate. He's not that bad when healthy.

Look at his stats and tell me he deserves a 2 year $14 million contract.

I hate nickeling and diming your way with marginal free agents. You take all that money that you spend on 3 or 4 guys and you put it towards 1 guy and fill the gaps with young players. Take Jimenez, Sizemore, Hafner, and Carmona's money and put it towards one stud FA. Don't spread the money between 4 Jason Michaels.

Typical Indians move: Signed 36 year old Chuck Finley, coming off a 4.43 ERA season, to a 3 year/8mil contract.

It was a very good trade for them.
But yeah, they'll probably still suck.

Love how the indians will sign three guys like Mark Reynolds for 7 mil each, but won't even consider 1 Josh Hamilton for 18 mil. 1 Josh Hamilton > 3 Mark Reynolds.
Although with our luck, Hamilton would fall of the wagon hard in Cleveland, so maybe he was a bad example.

Trevor Bauer could be the next great Indians pitcher to sign somewhere else in 4 years.

(Hamilton deal is in the neighborhood of 3 years @ $80 million)

Rumor is he wants to stay with the Rangers, but the Rangers don't want to sign him for 4 years. Other teams know this and don't want to offer a 4 year deal because he will turn around and show it to the Rangers as leverage and end up staying there.

There hasn't been much tribe talk lately, but it looks like that 10 year, $400 mil TV deal with FOX sports has got them loosening the purse strings.
Nick Swisher Brett Myers Mark Reynolds
They are also looking at several other FA. Might be a decent year.

The Indians also quietly resigned Grady Sizemore to a 3 year, $6 million deal on Jan 1. If he could stay healthy...

His Wikipedia page said that and Wikipedia is NEVER wrong, except when it is, which is the case in this situation.
