Actually after I said that I realized he didn't have a great game. I was in and out of the game and he looked good when I saw him. Lots of movement with good speed. I think hes healthy just not back up to speed.

Is there an actual Pujols rumor or did you just make that up Due?

Peavy and Masterson were money tonight. Can't hang your head with a loss like tonight.

Is there an actual Pujols rumor or did you just make that up Due? it came from the planet between Saturn and Neptune. Looked at 2012 FAs, and at the time the Cards were floundering. Late season trades of marquee talent are by teams that aren't contending and have a big time FA they're going to lose anyway, or get back anyway. Pooholes fit, but now that the Cards are contending, they wouldn't even consider trading him, not that they would anyway.

Actually after watching this team for the last week they could probably use a big bat for the outfield. Because when Hafner and Sizemore are both out of the lineup the entire offense goes stagnant.

Are you basing this off last night's game only? When Peavy was just nasty? Hell, I'm starting to wonder if we could just trade Sizemore once he gets off the DL. He's still got a good contract. Go get someone who can stay on the field and might be looking at an upcoming contract.

No not just last night, Peavy was just on. But it does seem like whenever both Hafner and Sizemore are out of the line up we struggle to score runs.

That's what I was kinda getting at. Brantley can play center, and Buck seems to deserve a shot. But Grady has one more year and Choo doesn't.
The question become, with the nagging injuries do we try and get Grady to sign a contract now? Take the injury risk. I think we are more likely to resign Grady than Choo but I would hate to lose both.

I would try to extend Grady before trading him. The guy never missed a game until his knee injury. You got to believe that him getting healthy is inevitable.

Where does this thought keep coming from BTW? He had a nice spring, and stepped up the other day, but I don't see anything that says he deserves a shot to start.
Also, I'd rather extend Choo than Sizemore. I like Brantley in center & Choo is a hell of a RF with the arm to match. He's off to a slow start but the guy is one of the most underrated players in the game.

Buck's line: 13 42 7 11 3 0 0 4 0 8 0 0 .279 .333 .612 .262 Although, I thought Buck was young, not 27 so he may not be worth what I thought.

You want to give Travis Buck a chance? C'mon, there are numerous outfielders out there that would be an upgrade over everybody we have playing now. Take off the red and blue colored sunglasses. If you want this team to upgrade, you have to be willing to let go the players here that are mediocre at best! Just because the players are all hot right now doesn't mean they are all going to be all-stars.

All I hope is that we trade Austin Kearns to a contender again this year. Free prospect for removing the deadweight, and having Kearns PH for a competitor only helps us.

Hafner to the DL. So we get to see what the team can do without both him & Sizemore in the lineup now.

Hafner to the DL. So we get to see what the team can do without both him & Sizemore in the lineup now. the lack of production in the past few games is an unfortunate answer to that. Replacing Hafner and Sizemore with Duncan and Kearns is like replacing a prime aged bone-in ribeye with a bag of Olive Garden that someone puked up after drinking too many Jagermeister shots. We'll be lucky to get 1/3 from the Reds

As disgusting as that analogy is, it is probably correct. Who did they call up?

Could you imagine where this team would be if we could just beat our own division?

I think we are all seeing the key to winning the pennant now:
Have Viagra boy rip this team here constantly.

I know it's "too early" for scoreboard watching, but I love seeing the Pirates help us out by beating the Tigers.

I think we are all seeing the key to winning the pennant now: Have Viagra boy rip this team here constantly. It's been working all season. Fully expect us to get blown out today. Something like 9-2. Oh well. And Hannahan is starting to become a liability. Screw the glove, he's regressing to his .167 hitting norm. Giant hole in the bottom of the lineup with him in it.

I think we need a broom icon for this team. Yeah Hanahan sucks ass. Did anyone watch the game that double steal/error was crazy.
