Doesn't look like the pressure cooker provided much shrapnel. Don't mean to minimize it, but it seems to me to be a pretty poor vessel to build a bomb with. Maybe the extra pressure produced makes for a more explosive explosion. Hell I have no clue. Maybe they were on sale at Sears and it was convenient.

I don't think the pressure cooker itself creates the shrapnel, it's the stuff you're able to load it with.

I love my job, but Fuck do some of the questions I get make me want to weep for humanity.
The other day a lady asked if since the microwave had auto sensor cooking if that meant that she didn't have to follow the instructions on her Stouffers meals, it would just know which one she put in.

Don't all microwaves have auto sensors now? They probably don't work for shit but it seems like every microwave we've had has had something like that. [goes to check]

Okay well this one doesn't, but I'm pretty sure the one at our last house did.

Yes it did. It was called "Sensor Cook" and you'd hit the button and it would cook whatever until it thought it was done. I remember using it once and having to cook it for 30 seconds more anyway.

[goes to check] Yes but they can't tell what fucking meal you put in. I had a lady try to return her side by side fridge a month ago. She was upset that everything she put in her fridge froze and that her frozen things were thawing out. Never thought I had to explain which side was which.

Morons. My guess is that pressure cookers are used because of the tight seal you can get. When the dynamite goes off inside of such a tightly sealed container it exudes more pressure when the container bursts.

Yeah but its not like that couldn't be replicated into a thinner shell.
But what the hell do I know, I'm no bomber.

You don't want a thinner shell. The point is to build as much pressure as possible before rupturing the container. Think about it, put a fire cracker flat on your hand, yes it will burn a little but not as much as it will if you close your hand around the fire cracker.

Doesn't sound like this is going to be a quick one. I forgot that it took 7 years to get the Atlanta bomber.

You'd have to be a lunatic if you think you're going to actually pull that one off.

All news outlets have reported a suspect is in custody. Can we please bring back stoning? Actually, stoning is too good for that animal.

Damn, diz is an expert on this shit. No he watched Armageddon And with most homemade bombs the shrapnel comes from what the maker puts inside, not from the device itself
