Maybe it was used as a timer?
Very odd, anyway.

Hey flats, we get it. You're really hoping the culprit is watching Fox News when they kick his door down. I'm not "rooting" for anything. Just speculating. 2 more things that make me think it isn't Islamic - 1. The bombs actually worked (unlike the shoe bomber, underwear bomber, Times Square bomber etc...), and 2. No group has claimed responsibility yet. If this were Al-Qaeda there would be a video bragging about how they came into our country and did this and none of us are safe blah blah blah. The Times Square bomb was in a pressure cooker as well.

So What's the benefit of using a pressure cooker? I can't figure it out. If it was just some dumb kids plugging one in and filling it with stuff, I could see it exploding. But this is obviously not that.

We need to ban pressure cookers so we can save the children from these evil killing machines!

Never! My right to own a pressure cooker is granted by God himself, and any limits on my access to the small kitchen appliance aisle at Target is the death of freedom.

I was taken aback when I read it was a pressure cooker. My mom used to cook ribs or something in a pressure cooker and dad would always say: "Don't touch that thing, it's a fucking bomb." Apparently he was right.

He's been a good rep for us. I know he's catching some heat over the filibuster vote but it looks as though he's gonna hold true to his word on protecting 2A.

Doesn't look like the pressure cooker provided much shrapnel. Don't mean to minimize it, but it seems to me to be a pretty poor vessel to build a bomb with.
