With all the talk about a weak draft does it matter when you are picking 1 and 4? prob not if you want Irving and a Turkish center - who I think may go top three. I think we may go with a wing guy like Kawhi Leonard

I've heard talks of the Cavs trying to trade the 4th and their trade exception for the 2nd pick.
I've also heard about them giving up their 2 second rounders and getting back into the first.
I say make it happen.

I am guessing that the starting line would be Irving Davis Williams Hickson Andy

There's like 6 players worth drafting in this year's draft. I say use the exception on an already established player if possible.

I'm just not a fan of Williams but as long as we get Kyrie they can do whatever they want to get Williams, although he may just fall to 4. Correction whatever they want as long as they aren't giving up JJ or Andy to get him.

I think we may go with a wing guy like Kawhi Leonard I'm a Kawhi fan, though 4 is probably a bit of a reach. I like the Gerald Wallace comp. Still, I think you can argue SF is the biggest weakness on the roster and perimeter length is so critical in playing D in today's NBA ... especially with James and Carmelo in the East. Jan Vesely is the other intriguing SF, but drafting Euros is such a hit-or-miss deal and usually it seems a miss. I also think Kanter could go top 3, maybe even 2 to MIN if they can't trade out.

Irving is the clear No. 1 ... and I think the Chris Paul comps are spot on. I think Williams is a better player than Michael Beasley ... but his 'tweenerness scare me a bit. I'd probably rather have him than J.J. long-term ... but I don't think I want both on the front line. I don't think Williams can guard NBA small forwards.

This guy intrigues me at No. 4 ... he's a bit of a project but might have most upside of anyone in the draft www.draftexpress.com/profile/Bismack-Biyombo-5902/The video highlights of him at the Nike Hoops Summit is just crazy: (Triple double effort with 10 blocks!) He reminds me of Ben Wallace with hands ... he can actually finish around the basket and could be a nightmare for opponents on pick-and-roll with Kyrie. My only issue is he doesn't really fill a need. I'd probably take Kanter over him but this guy is right there with Jan Vesley, Kawhi and perhaps Alec Burks in my wishlist at No. 4.

If we take Irving and Kanter and Williams go 2 and 3 and a team offers a 2011 pick and a 2012 pick to move up to get Knight would you guys bite?

Depends on who is there, the 2011 pick and if 2012 pick is unprotected. But it is looking like a cluster at the 4 spot ... unless Williams falls or Kanter is there.

what about trading Andy, a pick (not a first unless next year's), and the trade exception for Iguodala? Irving at #1, Kanter at #4 gives us:
Irving Davis (Boobie learning the #2 point guard) Iguodala Hickson Katner

I don't think they'll move Andy, he's better off being the 6th or 7th man off the bench. If we ever want to contend in the next 3 years he's the type of player we need to hold onto.

Andy isn't a star but he's signed for four more years and has a reasonable contract. Apparently Cleveland offered the 4 overall pick and the 14.5 mill trade exemption for Rudy Gay but were rebuffed. I think Golden State would like to move Curry or Ellis in a trade up ... should Cleveland be interested? I don't like small backcourts but those are proven 20 ppg scorers.

We also need a wing who has size to defend with, and who can knock down 3s ... I'm not sure that is A.I. Great athlete. Great basketball player? This is where I like Jordan Hamilton, Chris Singleton and Kawhi Leonard in a trade down scenario.

Val is getting alot of play depending on him getting his Euro contract worked out. I would take him or Kanter over anyone not named Kyrie. Getting Kyrie and a solid C puts us half way there. We don't need a guy that is less talented than JJ...yes i'm looking at you DW
