You still have not answered my question, why is the average fan compelled to go to a game?
To watch a contending, fun baseball team and on the occasion see fireworks or get a promotional item would be my answer but I don't think it defines Cleveland. As my original argument said their current attendance is the norm. Less than 17,000 last night. NOT a baseball town. What would you do differently if I gave you the power? That's the problem, I can't go back and undo what they've botched over the years. Here's how far this franchise is out of touch with fans. Of the players of the nineties two of them left for more money and were hated because of it. So we are going to build a statue for Jim Thome. They didn't sign Omar because they wanted to groom a young player in Peralta. They then signed Belliard for more money than Omar and traded a young player in Brandon Phillips to let someone two years younger than Omar play 2nd. The what if ads was the worst marketing campaign ever. And through all of this the same people are still running the show. So that's where I start. Shapiro gone. Antonetti gone. I tell progressive thanks but no thanks and restore Jacobs field, the Jake. I immediately negotiate for one of the two sports talk radio shows to be the flagship for the team, forcing them to discuss the team more. I improve cell coverage inside the stadium. I build a statue for Omar. I market the current players, Kipnis, Masterson, Swisher, Bourn. I don't constantly talk about attendance and how it hurts our ability to sign players. Again though, the main issue is the damage done over the last decade.

Milwaukee averages eleven thousand more fans a game. Has a similar economy, has lost just as many big time players, and has as many playoff trips in the same amount of time. It's also Packers country, and they just had their star suspended for PED's. So how are the getting fans. Using Tommy's logic they should be even with us. They named the stadium after beer, Wisconsin people like to party, it really is that simple. Miller Park is an awesome venue to look at and to attend. Milwaukee is Festival City. It's poor and segregated like no where else in the USA, but everyone has one thing in common, alcohol. And you can get tix on the cheap. There's another idea. I work with Great Lakes Brewing and make them the official beer of the stadium. Negotiate costs so that it's not ten bucks for a 16 ounce beer. I also ask Cleveland born and raised Michael Symon to revamp the food and attach his name to it and open a small b spot in right field instead of the all American grill.

Well either way we agree the fans arent coming around whether the Tribe ownership & front office did this or if it was just something that was bound to happen.

The food at Miller Park sucks, the highlight is TGI Fridays and the 500 club or whatever they call it now is stadium food at expensive restaurant prices, they actually charge more for the same food if you're sitting in there. Dont recall beer prices, I'm usually pretty well juiced by the time I get in to the stadium. Hell last game I went to I did a lake perch fish fry for about 12 people, it takes a lot of beer to cook that much food at a tailgate. Been a bunch of years since I was at the Jake but isn't the parking scattered too? Miller Park is surrounded by a massive lot for ample partying space, no cops needed for the most part.

Tommy, they weren't going to continue to sell out, but they should be able to average in the mid to high 20's for attendance. No reason they shouldn't. Market your team, your current team, and make the experience one people want too attend.

Ridiculous. I'm guessing you were drinking a premium so let's get the facts straight: The Cleveland Indians are making the cost of a 12-ounce domestic brew $4 at every home game. For perspective, according to fancostexperience.com, the average price of a beer in Major League Baseball last season was $6.10.

If PBR is premium than America is in trouble. Fans aren't staying home because of beer prices. They're staying home because of a lack of faith in the organization as a whole.

To take it further, serve some local items, such as deep fried Lake Erie perch sandwiches. They fry quickly & are local fare. Also, name the park "Feller Field". Ol' "My Son has some good ideas" Dad

Currently on my Twitter feed there are 4 different people complaining about 4 different ticketing issues with the Indians.
My favorite, one decided last minute top to game. Got online, $50 for a bleacher seat that if you walked to the gate was $22. Nothing like price gouging your customers who decide on a whim to go. Yeah but it's not the Indians fault. Get the fuck out.

Could you imagine of they sold GL Christmas Ale at the Browns games HOLY FUCK I picture the entire stadium fighting. The guy sitting to the one next to him is pounding him and the one next to him is pounding him... all around the stadium. Kinda' a "fighting wave".. then the demolition derby ride home. But the Great Lakes Brewery idea is a great one. Sign me up for that. Problem is they probably get a huge kickback from a major brewery. No?

An extra 5,000 fans on average puts roughly another 12 million of revenue into the organization. Can't see Budweiser forking that out annually.

WHY DIDN'T THEY TRADE FOR SOMEONE TODAY? ANYONE!!!!!! JUST MAKE A TRADE TO DO IT!!!!! BUNCH OF CHEAPIES!!!!!!

Get the fuck out. That is fucked up. At brewers.com the ticket prices are the same as the window. Of course if you're going to Miller Park just get your ticket at the window right now, the person can give you the best seat available... Ran into Joe Thomas's aunt a few years back at the Miller Park ticket window. Cool lady. I about fell out of my chair when I watched this video. Haven't seen her at the grocery store yet...holy shit. videos.cleveland.com/cleveland/2010/09/browns_fan_confessional_mary_s.html
