The Lakers are said to be very interested in Ramon Sessions but what are they willing to give up that we need?

Cavs send Ramon Sessions & Christian Eyenga for Luke Walton & 2012 Lakers first rounder. LAL gets right to swap '13 1st rounder w/Heat pick

Looks like a fine deal to me. Not the straight player for pick deal I was hoping for, but I doubt there will be much of a difference between those '13 picks, and Eyenga's window was closed IMO. Walton is awful, but he has to be better than Harangody.
We'll probably wind up using this Laker pick to move up a bit in the lotto and grab our guy.

Why didn't we get the Dallas pick from the Lakers? It was the better first round pick. LA traded that pick and Derek Fisher to Houston for Jordan Hill. I think Sessions is the better player plus we had to on shitty Luke Walton and his bloated contract for next year.

If it makes you feel better that Dallas pick is top 20 protected. So as it stands now (Dallas is 16) if we had acquired that pick we might not be using it for a few years. We'll definitely be getting LA's pick this season. No way they miss the playoffs.

So best Houston could get is 21 this year or picking in later years. This is a strong draft so I would rather take 25 now. LA is the 3rd seed right now so yes they will be in.

I love the trade. What we'll do with Walton is a mystery, but that 1st round pick is nice & just may be used to gain us a better spot in the 1st round. I'm really surprised we got a 1st rounder for Sessions & I was afraid we would end up with that Jonny Flynn, who has shown next to nothing in the NBA. Ol' Dad

Ol' Dad Better to get something than just let Sessions walk. Mid 20s picks in the NBA are a crap shoot. I'm hoping for Bradley Beal in the Lottery. Good kid. Can shoot it. Bulkier Ray Allen.

Right now the Cavs picks are (around) 8, 24, 32, 38.
As bad as last year's draft class was, this one is deep. I absolutely think we should be able to get a player the GM and Coach really like with LA's pick.
That said, I really think all those later picks are going to be used to move up at some point. I think Grant will target a player he really likes, and these trades have given him the ammo to go up and get him. Which I am more than fine with. Studies have shown that in the NFL trading up in the draft is almost never worth it, but in the NBA the team that trades up almost always ends up the winner in the deal. If they're at 8 or 9 and Grant loves Barnes, who is still sitting there at 4, hell yes sell the farm and go get him.

I'd be all for that but you rarely see trade downs in the NBA in the top half of the Lottery. You only have 5 players on the court might as well draft the difference maker. I like Barnes and Beal quite a bit. Skilled guys, good athletes, good kids. Need to see more from Lamb and Perry Jones III.

I would move up for sure. You only have 12 or 13 guys on your roster. There is no need to draft 4 rookies. If they had to keep all the picks, I would assume at least 1 would be a foreign guy.

You would have to find a team that wants quantity over quality. I don't think any team would want 4 picks for one. Like I said, you only have 12-13 bodies on a team

Too bad it's the NBA team with the plan.

My guess would be 8 24 and 32 could move you to the 4-6 range. Or u could pick at 8 , then use 24 32 and 38 to get something in the 16-19 range. Just a rough guess.

If they don't get the first pick I could see them trading with the Cavs. There's no clear-cut No. 2 is there? I wouldn't touch Drummond that high.
