Agreed for the most part, though the Sin City Sith nailed it - if you want to be "greater" than Bob Feller, it's a better move to not say, "...it's not all about the money..." and then sign with the Phillies for a few extra pesos... However, all things considered, I'm not overly miffed about it. Basically, the Teepee brain trust had a choice; Thome or Hafner because they're essentially a set of bookends. At this point in thime, Thome at his best is worth about 1/2 a season of Hafner all things being equal, so the bet is really which chronically ruptured duck gives the team a better chance of some reasonable production between stints on the DL - Hafner at 33 or Thome at 41? Flip a nickle, take your pick... ;D
