Surgery on thumb today. Gone until late August at least.
He was having a shit year but the crap they will put on there in RF now - Kearns, Buck, & Duncan - will make you miss him in a hurry.
Bring up Kipnis and put him out there (even though they were transitioning him to 2B).

Choo's a FA after this year, correct? Great, unless he can get through waivers, we're not gonna be able to move him. Although anything is better than nothing.
Think the Phils would take a chance on resigning him? They need a RF bad. Swap injured FA Choo for injured one year left and currently in fans' doghouse Roy Oswalt.

Interesting trade idea but I doubt the Phillies would do it. Hell, now might be the time to sign him to a 3 year deal.

Injury and off year be damned, Boras will have him out there and manage to find someone to overpay him.

I think 3B should pretty much be Chisenhall's now with Cabrera & Hannahan getting the occasional start there. Let Hannahan play the occasional 1B too until Laporta is back. Cabrera shuffles between 3B and 2B with Phelps playing against righties. Get Kipnis up here and put him in RF for now with Buck & Duncan occasionally spelling him. And get Kearns the hell out of here. It's not like they are going to go trade for a big bat. The only thing they can get will be more old, washed up crap. I'd rather play the young kids.
