Who are the guys that need to step up if we have any hope of salvaging this season? By salvage I mean not start 0-7.
Offense:
MoMass: like it or not he is our #1 WR. He has to have more than 3 catches in as many games.
QB: I don't care who, but one of the guys needs to prove he can go out and not cost us a game. We could be 2-1 if not for horrible decision making.
Defense:
Roth: he needs to be the guy from the end of last year, not the guy who got cut in Miami. Get pressure, make plays behind the los.
Elam or Adams: We need someone that can play centerfield. Allow Ward to play in the box, let our corners be aggressive.

Delhomme needs to get healthy. If we can continue to get a steady running game, with Delhomme using the play action, I think our offense will be able to open up.
Rogers , health is an issue here too but he could be that pass rusher we are missing.
Watson and Moore need to be more involved. We may not have the best WRs but this TE combo is in the upper half of the league.

I agree 100% with the QB. Who ever is gonna be playing needs to do a better job, period. He needs to make better decisions throwing the ball.
This one i think is huge and it's kind of weird to be saying but Josh Cribbs needs to step up his game returning kicks. He's done nothing this year. If he could give this team better field position and even a couple returns for td's, that would be huge.
I'm not gonna single anybody out on defense because nobody is getting pressure on the opposing QB. Somebody needs to come through, and it could be one of many people.

I almost listed Cribbs. I hate to say it, I don't see the same fire running the ball back. Part of it is teams figured out not to tackle him high, now he needs to adjust to that.

Think of most of the great returners and how long their runs lasted. I'm not saying its over for Cribbs but......
Remember Dante Hall?
The Browns are also in a tough situation as he is becoming more and more involved in the passing game. And he is starting to resemble a legit WR.
So do you continue to let that happen if it takes away from his kick returns? Or do you try to let him focus more on what he has been great at?
Tough question.

I think that him focusing more on WR may have a little bit to do with him not producing as well on special teams. Maybe its just because he's not getting as much practice with the kicking game as he used to but it should be important that he does. Give the Browns the ball at mid field every possesion and let Hillis work.

Think about this too. The Browns are ranked top 5 in red zone offense. If Cribbs was giving us the field position that he was giving us last year, how many more points would this team have?

Not only that but you are obviously going to get more dings and bruises being on the field in both the offense & special teams. I didn't notice the ankle bothering him last game BTW. He had some nice cuts. Must have shot him up nice before it.

He just looks uninterested on special teams for lack of better terms. It's like when you're young and you know you have to play all the positions, so you just mess up hoping they never put you there again.

I think it might be easier to name the players that HAVE stepped up.
Hillis Vickers Ward Rubin and...... Haden has been pretty good for a rookie except for that one TD.

Brown, Moore and Watson also have been solid...same with Thomas(minus a week), Steibach...every week, Mack all but one week. Actually Womack hasn't completely sucked.
