Are the Vikings really going to let Teddy hit the open market?
Because I think a QB room of Kizer, Teddy, and Rosen/Darnold next season would be pretty damn good.

My position was we should offer our 2nd rounder for him, because I thought that would be enough to get him. And I was roasted for it. But if we'd done what I said we'd have JG and our two picks in the first, and 2 picks in every round after that. If you could have only convinced bill to do it.

The TD pass to himself was neat. But Mariotta’s best play was the block he threw to spring Henry and ice the comeback win. A QB who leaves it all on the field like that will elevate the effort and resolve of every other player on the roster.

He got hurt and they completely collapsed. Props to Marcus and the thumbtacks though.

Good point. They are like the Bengals of the AFC west. Andy Reid and Marvin Lewis make Marty look good when it comes to the playoffs.

But hey, I'd take some playoff losses over 0-16 parades any day.

Seems like the conventional wisdom two weeks ago was that Rosen was the clear #1 pick. But now it feels like everyone is suddenly saying it’s Darnold. Why is that? Just the concussion stuff?

Nationally or local (Cleveland)? Locally I think it's Rosen's comments about being picked lower for a better team/opportunity. That and he appears to come from a white collar family where Darnold comes from a more blue collar background (dad is/was a plumber). In other words stupid shit. Nationally it's probably injury and potential concussion concerns along with the rest. Add seasoning, butter and mix in your yearly crazy season stuff and sit back and enjoy.

It will swing back to Rosen again before the draft about 3 times

flats, do you get why some of us wanted Jimmy G yet? I was fine with trading for him. I just thought 3 firsts or whatever was nuts. I thought his market value was a 2nd round pick. I'd have made that deal. And our 2nd round pick would have been enough to get him here - it's more than SF paid. I forget who the Saints backup QB was but your argument was why not trade for him, whats the difference between the 2?

I am fine with either. But I bet Darnold (in a good situation) will end up better. Reasons to like Darnold more (there are reasons to lije Rosen more too) Rosen: Concussions Asshole who teammates don’t like Turns the ball over a lot too Darnold: Bigger build More mobile & athletic Accuracy

The thing that scares me about Darnold is the turnovers not just the picks but the fumbles too. He also needs to work on his mechanics and decision making. I hope like hell they bring in a reliable vet no matter who they decide to go with.
I really wonder how different Kizer would be today if they had kept McCown and not thrown Kizer to the wolves week one.

I wonder if Alex Smith would make the ground under Hue's feet move? I mean, he's no RGIII.... but..

I wonder if Alex Smith would make the ground under Hue's feet move? I mean, he's no RGIII.... but.. With an NFL caliber OC/HC Alex would be an ideal quarterback to mentor and bridge the gap for a rookie. Two questions: 1 Do the Browns have an NFL caliber OC/HC? 2 What would it cost to trade for Alex? He should be available for a third round pick. They may have to offer a second rounder but they have plenty of ammunition to get it done. Problem is it will be wasted unless question one is answered.

Exactly why they should have dumped Hue's loser ass and started fresh with a new system that both the veteran QB and the newly drafted QB could learn from day 1. Now, it's a huge mess next year or whenever it happens that Hue is replaced and everyone has to start from scratch AGAIN and another wasted year/s. The only person that benefits from keeping Hue Jackson is John Dorsey. More time and money in his pocket.
