If Kessler's "ok" he'll be the best qb we've drafted in over a decade and a half, and we got him for a late third rounder. I won't complain. From that point of view I agree. We still need "the guy" though. Hopefully Hue can make Bob or Cody the guy.

Me. I want one very very much. Because watching football is supposed to be fun. An ok starter means he is like the 20th best QB at best. Most likely means you are stuck at 7-9 or 8-8 on your good years. So fun. Enjoy. Jeff Fisher approves this message. (p.s. And I don't think Kessler will even be an "ok starter" nor was Colt)

But your "who wants an ok starter?" attitude does explain your interest in Hogan. He'll never come close to being an ok starter. Ignore my sleeper Brissett who the Patriots drafted before just about any of the shmucks we are discussing.

It's been said all offseason - it was essentially Goff and Wentz, Lynch, then everyone else was essentially ranked the same with their own unique +/-'s. Kessler's report is pretty much identical to AJ McCarron's - I think Hue sees him as adding an element as a player who can break down film and read a defense and will be like an additional coach to help develop the guy they draft next year. I'd rather my backup be a guy that can read a defense with a weak arm than Derek Anderson. Either can win a game coming off the bench, but I'd rather have the smart guy if you need him to win a stretch of games due to an injury.

So analytically they had the best draft.
Hopefully it translates on the field.

Pro Bowl. 17-11 overall. 11-5 in year 2. Playoffs. In two seasons. Yes, let's just wrap up his career now & say he was ok. Because I doubt he'll throw more this year and the following year and the following year and continue to improve. Ok career Teddy. Racist.

May not be a slam dunk but a good base to start from.

Best defender in football in 2014 to drafted in the 7th round? Why the fuck not. High motor guy. Gym rat. Great locker room guy.

I'm really interested to see if this TE from Princeton can be a player or not. He's maybe the purest "analytics choice" of this draft. I'm looking at him as the canary in the coal mine of this experiment.

Flats hasn't stopped smiling yet. Tommy I think those are unfair comparisons. Have to wonder where this kid would've gone if he had 1 head coach. His numbers are impressive which backs up my take on analytics. You have a better arm. Throw velocity measured at combine Joe Flacco - 55mph Jameis Winston - 55mph Cody Kessler - 55mph I think his arm can do.

Just stop. He is a backup QB with a weak arm until I say otherwise.
