So we head into week one with one healthy RB and we are supposed to be a run focused offense? We have a 36 year old starting QB who managed to squeak out one win last season (I know they had shit for help)and a headcase 1st round pick with a bum elbow as the back up. A QB converting to WR who hasn't even caught a pass in a preseason game. They have a total of what? 6 O-Linemen?
The D should (should) be better on paper but we're still thin at LB.
Come on guys, give me a reason (a real reason) for optimism.

Bowe and Moore both listed as third deep on their side. Bowe is our fifth or sixth guy?
Anyone else think this is a bit of a middle finger from Pettine to Farmer?

Maybe the Steeler fan WAS right when he told me "the Browns suck and always will suck".
What a joke.

Ridiculous. The Jets are playing at home. And they've got the better QB. Obviously this game is a gimme victory for Cleveland.

I say we start 2-0, lose to Oakland.
I think we have four wins outside our division (Jets, Titans, Niners, and Chiefs - maybe five with the Rams, will depend how the D is better at stopping the run), and two wins in: 6-10

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have spoken to Ball since he became a free agent after clearing waivers earlier this week. Cabot reports several other teams have also been in contact with the former Bronco, who was a second-round pick in 2013, and that it is “uncertain” where he’ll land. The Browns passed on a chance to claim Ball in time to have him at practice this week, as did any other team that might have interest. That suggests Ball may remain on the market through Week One, which may bring injuries or other developments that land him with a new team. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/09/report-browns-have-spoken-to-montee-ball/

Sign next week, so his entire contract is not guaranteed

Sign next week, so his entire contract is not guaranteed Contract? You mean because he is'nt on the roster week 1? Just clarifying. (don't get hostile!)

Yes, that's what he means. If you sign a vet before your first game to a million dollar deal and you cut him in week 6 you pay him out the remainder of the full million. If you sign him after the season has started you can cut him later and you don't owe him the remainder of the deal.
I think it's a dumb move, if we really want him. We've got cap room out the ass, so if he's a guy you really like show him some love and make the offer before the other teams. What are we saving it for?

Because he looks exactly like Trent Richardson? Over valued coming out, had a decent start & has regressed since. Denver is a run 1st team & he got beat out by an undrafted rookie for 3rd string.
With our youth at the position I really don't get why we didn't sign a pro vet like Pierre Thomas.
