He signed a three-year, $14 million contract at 36 years old. The deal contains $6.25 million guaranteed. He's happy to be here.
There's you're first update.

I'm playing golf with Josh McCown's BFF on Friday and then lunch on Sunday. Will fill you in on where JMs head is at. Might have to make it PMs. Ask him what McCown thinks of Sylvester Stallone.

If it got me paid? All aboard. Josh is smarter than Brian.

He can get paid as a backup with or without Johnny. He's trying to get paid as a starter.

He can get paid as a backup with or without Johnny. He's trying to get paid as a starter. He got paid $1.5 million less than McCown. For a journeyman, that's a lot of money. If he wanted to get paid as a starter he should have stepped up last season & led this team to the playoffs when he had the chance. I don't understand why you guys give this guy so much slack. If he just played like he should have year he would have put us in the playoffs, gotten paid & been our starter right now.

I'll criticize the guy for playing himself out of a job all day long. He blew it. But I don't agree with you that he owed a damn thing to Manziel.

Hoyer played to the very best of his ability. I'm guessing we can say the same about Johnny?

We can all rant and rave about Johnny good or bad but when the time comes (and you know it will)..
Every single one of us will be plastered to the TV or at the game to see WTF happens next. Because whatever it is.. good OR bad will be magnified X 10.

I think he is better than what we've seen. To be fair, he can't be worse. I have trouble believing he is that bad. He might not be a legit long term NFL starter but he can't be as bad as he looked. Maybe, just maybe he got his wakeup call and now it will click. The problem I will always have with him though won't go away. His size. He can't run around and make plays like he did in the SEC or he will get killed. If it actually clicks, and he takes this serious and battles through it then the the question will become can he ever develop inside the pocket? Or will he play more like Russell Wilson? The problem is finding an undersized QB like Wilson, who knows how to scramble without taking big hits and when to get rid of the ball and to be very smart with it is very hard to do. Russell was the 75th pick in the draft showing not many thought he could do it either. The next wave of QBs likely will be more the type that can move and throw from outside the pocket. No more guys like Peyton and Brady but more guys like Luck, Rodgers, and Newton. But those guys all CAN throw from inside the pocket too if need be. Johnny will probably be limited to the Wilson route and as I said I think that's extremely difficult to pull off.

To call Mingo a bust when he played well with ONE ARM last year is unfair and extreme. Let's see what he does this year because they got what they could get out of him considering he couldn't rush the passer. Stop looking for negative stuff to live in your misery.

I will bet my posting reputation on the fact that Mingo will be outplayed by a new guy -- kind of like that Williams kid was our best DB, who, in reality, played much better than you fan boi favorite Joe Haden.
But, ignore facts and reality and carry on.
Go Browns.

Between Salamon gaining respect & the sleeper draft pick, Orchard, he might not only get passed up but cut Javvy.
