Have you ever seen someone have a rookie year like his and then "get their shit together" and become the all pro they were supposed to be? All pro they were supposed to be? I don't think anyone comes into the NFL with those expectations. I will say besides QB that CB is probably the toughest position to translate from college to & many players have gone from shit to good. That said if he is just an immature fuck like it sounds like, it doesn't matter. Skrine might be the reason we don't go CB early (believe it or not) & an example of a CB going from shit to not. According to Javvy's website Skrine is ranked like 105 out of 94.

Yeah not saying Skrine is great but he is a serviceable CB & will likely get paid this offseason (with how hard that position has become with these league rules).

Yeah I picked up on it I just wanted to clarify that I don't think Skrine is a stud.

So do they pay him or gamble on Gilbert? Who out there is better as a FA? That is the question. Because I know Coach Pettine is thinking along the same lines as me. VERY IMPORTANT.

I don't think we pay him, but because we'll be betting on Desir and Williams more than Gilbert.

What he lacks in size (5' 9") he makes up for in shear talent. If he can stay healthy he's a baller. What DB's are out there for grabs right now? That's the question. Someone more accomplished than Skrine to put across from Haden? How much less does that cost? I don't know.

Watching a little of this combine action. OLineman drills. It sure would be great to add to Thomas, Mack and Bitonio for run support.
TE's up next.
Anyone tuning in tomorrow for QB's and WR's? Looking forward to seeing anyone but the top 2.

I'll read about it but I can't watch that stuff.
Anyone have a RB they like in the later rounds? TWest got benched like 5 times for being a shithead. Crow doesn't take care of the ball. And for all the talk about that guy we got from the Niners he was never able to get on the field. I think they'll be looking to bring in help there.

Players that stood out to me yesterday. (I don't watch a lot of college ball so I don't know these guys)
OL
La'el Collins (LSU)
Jake Fisher (Oregon)
Either of these dudes could help the running game become a beast with Mack back.
TE
Maxx Williams (Minn)
Nick O'leary (Florida St.) <not a big guy and not a deep threat but hands of glue!>
Can't wait to see these QB's,WR's and RB's at 9am.

I had the combine on for a few minutes here & there but really have lost interest in guys in shorts moving up & down draft boards.
Fowler is going to be the best player in this draft. Book it.

Other than the 2 top prospects I thought Bryce Petty looked like a decent project QB.
Kevin White (WV) looked great at WR.
But hey, who needs beastly WR's anyway? Surely not the Browns.

Kevin White might not be there when the Browns pick.
It will be interesting to see how they address WR. They might just follow the Seahawks and say, see you don't need them.

12. Randy Gregory, OLB Nebraska - would love Fowler, but he's going to be the first pass rusher taken. And before you say anything about me wanting to draft D, unlike QBs (though I did call for Derek Carr last year), how upset would any of you be if we had Khlil Mack, Anthony Barr, Ryan Kerrigan, Robert Quinn, or Whitney Mercilus. Yes Mingo has underperformed, but he's actually better than most of our picks have been.
19. Maxx Williams, TE Minn - there you go.
43. Bryce Petty - might be a little high for him, but I think you take him here. Grayson or Hundley maybe, but man Petty has the arm to throw in the North all year long. Do it right this time and just let Hoyer play for the whole year or two.

"There you go." Like a TE and his four td's are gonna give us an entertaining offense.
