NBA draft tonight. I think we wind up trading the pick or getting a euro to stash overseas for a while. If we do use the puck I'd like to see us walk away with Delon Wright. Lanky pg out of Utah.
I see Sam Dekker dropping out of the lottery in some mocks. In the tourney he looked incredible. Someone's getting a steal there.

We need all the cash we can get, meaning no room to sign a draftee. Trade it. I think it's worth a Book It.

They traded it for two 2nd round picks. So I drilled it. Again. LOL.

Pretty underwhelming night. The Turkish kid will stay overseas for two years, and the other two guys we got are gonna be trying to earn playing time in Canton. (Why can't the Browns draft more guys destined to go to Canton, and the Cavs take less of them?)
This Christmas guy we got is like 25, so I can't expect much development. He's already older than Kyrie for crying out loud.
Most disappointing thing is we still have Haywood taking up a roster spot. The fact that we didn't deal him last night either means we didn't get any decent offers (unlikely, since we know that someone did offer them a first rounder straight up for him); or it means the Cavs are still concerned that Love might actually walk, and they want to keep Haywood around in case they need to make some emergency deals because of that situation.
One positive from last night - JR turned down his option and became a free agent. I think that's a good thing for us, even though I know we probably can't replace him with anyone as talented. But the fact as when we traded for him, that was a deal for Shump and taking JR too was seen as part of the price we paid. The storyline was we took back a knuckle headed locker room cancer, and we'd be stuck with him for two years because there was no way he'd turn down this option. Other gms at the time said they would have sent the Knicks a first rounder to NOT have to take jr as part of the deal.
So how'd it play out? He was fine all year. He played at his typical level. He avoided any huge fuckups off the court. He had that bad foul in the Biston series but it didn't wind up killing us. Not a locker room distraction. And then he declined his option. That's the absolute best case scenario right there. We're way ahead, quit now. Because this shit won't last. Take the good season you got, and walk away before that Ron Artest shit comes out and bites you.

The new "meaner" Phenom is not as much fun as the more laid back "insulting" Phenom.

I like the idea of a man being a mean drunk on Redds. Slapping his wife around with a pack of candy cigarettes rolled up in his Tshirt sleeve.

The new "meaner" Phenom is not as much fun as the more laid back "insulting" Phenom. OK I read it again and it sounded mean. Tommy I'm sorry I made fun of your "Book it" call. It was well thought out and no one else was even close to thinking that way. We all stand in awe of your intelligence and bask in the light of your brilliance.

He's still a little bitter about those jokes. He cried over our tacos about it.

Tristan and Cavs come to terms on an INSANE $80M contract. 16-20M per year, depending on the length of the contract.
