'Dillion' Film Tells Iowa 'Red Bull' Soldier's PTSD Story

I posted last year about a close friend's son who shot and killed himself if you recall, and the family has undertaken an effort to spread Dillion's story about his ordeal suffering from PTSD. I have not seen it yet, but they finished a documentary titled "Dillion" with the help of some pretty amazing people.

Please read and share, you never know who this might help, I guess several vets have already come forward to seek help because of this documentary. Hopefully it's good enough to go national.

The family of a deceased Iowa "Red Bull" soldier hopes that publicizing their story of loss to suicide will help other citizen-soldiers, families, and friends seek help and resources. The 46-minute documentary "Dillion" debuts on Kansas Public Television station KPTS, Wichita, on Sept. 11, 2013, at 8 p.m. CDT.

The subtitle of the documentary is "The true story of a soldier's battle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder [P.T.S.D.]." The family is seeking other venues and media outlets through which to distribute the film.


It still kills me to look at his picture, I was there when he caught his first largemouth bass on an Arborgast Jitterbug, red and white.

I'm hoping so, I kind of suspect they're shooting for a possible national airing, starting with a local affiliate and hoping it blossoms from there.

Well they released it online already, here's where you can watch it. Let me know if you still want a DVD otherwise I'm skipping sending them out. I highly recommend you share this with anyone you might know that has ever been in the military or has suffered a traumatic event that could cause PTSD. Hurricanes, tornadoes, fires etc. all leave people alone and afraid suffering from this fucked up "disease". You too just might save a life, Dillion Naslund has in more ways than one.

That thumbnail was default, my buddy Jeff. Many, many stories. We caught 70+ big largemouth bass in a couple hours one day on a western Iowa pasture pond. One end wasn't navigable because the cows walked through there. All I have to say to his wife is "moonshine" or "sawhorse" to trigger a smile. We got the shine' from the source in Paducah.
