Watching Episode III with the kids and my daughter says: "Hey Dad, when Anakin does the Force choke on Padme, why doesn't he pick her up in the air like they do on the show?"

Haha, I knew you were going to say that.
Tell me honestly how Spielberg and the other fixers that were brought in for E3 could have done any better with the corner they were already painted into by I & II. (Other than recasting Anakin.)

I had no idea Spielberg was brought in.
They could've cut the bit where Padme dies of being sad. Or the NOOOOOOOOOOO. Or flying artoo (was that 3 or 2? Not sure). The nonsensical "So love has blinded you?" exchange.

Yeah, I don't know in what capacity though.
They should have made it that he accidentally killed her, broke her neck or something, and then went dark side berserker on Obi-Wan. They had to go for the whole "There's still good in him." bullshit, because GL thinks he's writing the Bible.
NOOOOOOOOOOO was lame but not as bad as when they injected the same clip at the end of VI. If they give me the rewrite he'll just yell "motherfucker" over and over while he grabs 2-1B by the legs and swings him around smashing up the lab.
I thought the flying R2 in III was pretty cool. He sprayed the battle droids with oil and then lit them up with the afterburner. It was II the thrusters made their debut and people were so upset. Frankly, I thought that was one of the positives of that episode. (There weren't many.)
Obviously love has blinded George that he thought he could still write. Kevin Smith had a good bit about "Write everything you can think of in your 20's because your 30's and 40's, you can't write the same shit anymore."
My point is for the few hmm-hmms you can find, Episode III wasn't nearly as bad as those other two. I think he would have been better off to release Revenge of the Sith/Episode III as a standalone. It's not like you really need those other two films to lay the groundwork. They establish everything you need to know within the first 5 minutes of E3. In a way, he painted himself into the corner when he called the first one Episode IV, but at the same time, he gave himself the license to say "Fuck it, I'll start wherever I want." Then put out Episode I about Exar Kun or some 25k BBY shit.

What really sucks is, I went to buy 3, 4, 5 & 6 on Amazon Video today because the kids always want to watch them and it's easier to have them three clicks away rather than looking for Blu-Rays, and they're not on there. Of course, fucking Star Wars can't be on there, nooooo (or NOOOOOOOOO), they're special. Also, the final season of Clone Wars came out on Netflix yesterday. Lucasfilms was totally out of gas. Disney should have just sued for the rights and poured 4 billion into the parks. I'm going to write them a letter begging them to keep that awful, likes to dress up like Indiana Jones yinzer douchebag, Dave Filoni away from everything. Cocksucker shouldn't even be working in the commissary.

I've never seen VI with the NOOOOOOOOOOO added, and I never will. And when I have kids they'll be protected from that abomination as well.
Wtf were they thinking? "Hey, let's take this huge laughable failure and insert it into the finale of the original trilogy." Amazed they haven't digitally replaced Han Solo with Jar Jar in IV-VI too.

Good for you. Hopefully Disney puts out the original theatrical versions, or else you just have to get those purple DVDs from Ebay. If you record the ones that play on Spike, they're (I think) the 2005 versions, but you have to FF through commercials.
Lucasfilm was so out of ideas they kept fucking with shit just to fuck with it. Every time I see the updated ending of RotJ, I see Alec Guinness look over like "I have to get up three times a night to take a ghost piss, and this doesn't follow the rules faggot gets to be 28 forever? It's not fair!" GL says it's a director's prerogative to go back and change whatever they want. I guess we should ask Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand what they think.

Just bought this on Kindle for 5 bucks. Read it a couple of years ago on the way to and from Los Angeles. It explains the Sith philosophy in a really logical way. I've voted Republican ever since.

I haven't watched this in ages. The first Arnold movie I saw where I walked out of the theater and said: "That wasn't very good." Charles Dance with the glass eye bombs was cool though.

Just got out of a new documentary, "Particle Fever." Way more entertaining than a film about the Large Hadron Collider has any right to be. God bless the nerds.

Took the kids to see Cap 2. Pretty fucking good. Hard to tell who has the hotter ass, Scarlett Johansson or her stunt double. The entire audience gasped when it was revealed the Winter Soldier was Bucky. My daughter looked at me like "WTF did they not know that?" No kiddo, I don't think so. Walking in I saw a sign that that "All Tickets $5, Every Tuesday!" and thought "Oh good. Oh no." Jesus fuck, I took my kids to the movies on Caddy Day. It was like sitting in the Dawg Pound if the Browns moved to Guatemala. There's like a dozen <1 year old babies around us and they're all sneezing and coughing. At first I thought Spanish Flu then I realized that everybody that doesn't have a child with them is vaping so the theater smells like a kiwi strawberry Pina Colada. Anyway great fucking comic book flick. Top 3 spot in the Marvel universe thus far. Only disappointing part was the wait-through-the-credits Easter egg of Bucky at the Smithsonian when the scene with Baron Von Strucker and Magneto's kids was so much better. eta: The best fucking reference, ever.

Cap 2 rocked. Best Marvel movie yet, IMO. A better Bourne movie than any of the Bourne movies.
The 2 minute Apple commercial wedged into the middle of the movie was a bit distracting. But in the end give em credit for having the balls to make a big summer blockbuster that says "Hey America, the NSA and drone pilots are fucking Nazis."

I was going to see Cap again so I can hear all of the shit I missed while I was doling out M&M's and telling my son not to drink his entire fucking lemonade in the first half hour.

I don't really know what to say about Draft Day. It wasn't very funny. Or romantic. Or interesting. Or realistic. Or much of anything. But it wasn't bad enough to be worth hating either.
The wife liked it, for what that's worth.
