I have the perfect beater ... it's a 93 Chevy 1500 interior and exterior isn't pretty infact the interior is trashed. The radio doesn't work and the drivers door window works when it wants to (I think its a democrat).
The 350hp motor is bad ass with the 5 speed MANUAL transmission. Plenty of power and shouold be good for another 100k miles

I had a 76 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 400 a long time ago. I'd probably still have it if my fucking brother didn't roll it over 2 times and ending up wrapping it around a telephone pole driving drunk.

Somebody should make it harder for people to buy a car if they are sober.

My dad's '63 Chevy Impala. We went to Florida in it once for vacation when I was a little tike as a family. My younger brother and I almost roasted to death in the back seat with the top down because of the black vinyl. It burned like a motherfucker with shorts on! I requested that we go all the way to the tip of the Keys and get shells. (I wanted to go the farthest away I could just so I could say I did) So my dad drove us there. Across all the bridges and stuff. I still have the shells we picked off the beach and brought home to Ohio. P.S. My dad was a Chevy mechanic. ;-)

My dad was like a month from being called to 'nam before his time was up. Many of his team died.
My dad's uncle got shot in the head on D-day. Had a speech problem his whole life but lived. Died like 10 years ago or so.

I'm actually in the market for a beater truck. Me too, been in the market for two years. I want the early 90s Ford regular cab 4x2 inline 6 with the 3 speed manual. Used to own that truck and to this day wish I had never let it go. I had a red 85 Silverado 4x2 reg cab auto at one point too, that was a sweet truck.

Owned a Dodge straight 6 van (75 Dodge Van 6 cylinder for the band & equipment) and it was ROCK solid.
Even replaced the head and valves one year before we went out on the road.
Adjusted the valve lash at the first stop in Arizona from California. Heh...
It took me across country and back twice with only one problem. When I got to Denver, the radiator had no over flow tank.
Because of the altitude I over heated and had to buy an overflow kit on the road.
Live and learn...

My buddy Jeff from Iowa had a that truck BTTB. Was our fishing truck, red and white with the aluminum cap. We bought a naked wide bottom 8' john boat and turned it into a stump jumper if you will. Voodoo might know what I mean. It floats low and stable. Two bass seats, live well, lights, two batterys, carpeting, and we could pop it in the back of that truck and close the gate and cap lid.
Those were some good days. Jeff's son is the one that recently shot himself....PTSD.

Like a zodiac but REALLY small time. ($100) I was so HOOKED on fishing I would drive down to Redondo beach or up to Channel Island's harbor and launch it. Pretty stupid looking back. The thing had a plastic prop and a converted car battery for power. DANGER!
