It's fucking rough. Woody Harrelson rules as always but it wasn't the film I was looking for. He played sort of a Vic Mackey after the scandal type character and I was hoping for more of a CRASH/Mack/Perez biopic.
His character Officer Dave Brown, who has to explain to his daughters that they are not inbred because he married their mothers -- two different sisters "consecutively not concurrently" as he quickly unravels in the wake of the Rampart scandal. He's a lovable/loathable sort of character with all of the charm, but not half the depth or terror of the aforementioned Detective Mackey.
It's billed as the "Film the LAPD doesn't want you to see". I could sketch out a 3 man improv piece with random Figueroa pedestrians of your average peace officer that would be way more upsetting to the LAPD. Giant jerkoff session. I can't wait someone writes and films the real CRASH/Mack/Perez story. Maybe that's my thing. Fuck it, what else do I have to do?
The first person I'm going to interview is BttB who was probably half paying attention to some bar TV when he saw "POLICE CORRUPTION" across the bottom of KTLA.
