Was talking to a buddy yesterday about the NBA playoffs and how the Heat are pretty much having the stars align to win the title. I really think if they don't win it this year, it won't happen anytime. OKC is only going to get better, the Lakers will make some moves this offseason, the Bulls will be better with DRose back, and don't sleep on how good the Pacers can be. That said, the Heat just aren't built for a championship, they have the wrong 3.
Bosh would be a superstar, even more so than now, if he was a #2 to either LBJ or Wade. As the 3rd option he is out of place. Think of every great NBA dynasty, and think to their "3rd" guy and you'll notice they were more gritty guys than what Bosh is. The Bulls had Horace Grant and Rodman, guys that played D, owned the boards, but hardly light up the scoreboard. The Lakers team with Shaq and Kobe had Derek Fisher, again a gritty guy who played tough D. The Celtics had Ainge who was just a hustle guy who did the dirty things. That isn't Bosh. He's never going to dominate the boards, and he isn't going to shut down the great PF's he has to face, ask Dirk.
You also look at the great dynasties in the NBA and the top 2 guys complemented each others game. Wade and LBJ don't, they are far too similar. The Heat would be far better served to deal Wade or LBJ, and get back 2 established starters that can do the dirty little things your 3,4,5 guys need to do on the court.
Figured it's the offseason and would see what you guys thought about this. I will say right now, I wouldn't be shocked if the Celtics knock the Heat out of the playoffs. Garnett has adjusted his game to being the 3rd option and just worries about D and boards, and can still score when called upon. Pierce has always matched up against LBJ well, and Rondo and Allen tip the scales in Bostons favor. Wouldn't shock me at all.

I somewhat agree. Which is why I'm extra happy that Bosh might be out for the rest of the playoffs. It gives their font office reasonable doubt, and another year to waste on this group.
OTOH - if gritty vets are what that team needs, you know there will be a few out there every year who are willing to take a pay cut to join Miami. We may even see Battier step up into that role now that Bosh is out.
As for Boston, I don't think they've got what it takes. I love Rondo, but I don't think he can pull it off with the fossils they have around him.

Bosh means a lot to the Heat. I think they are like 4-5 without him.
Without Wade? They are like 9-1.
That said whats the reason Lebron ran to Wade? To take the pressure off him because he can't handle it. Lebron doesn't want to be the guy taking the shot to win the title.
But they aren't going to deal Lebron, the prick is now a 3 time MVP. And Wade's injury history and the team's record without him points to him being the one dealt.
As for this season? You'd think they'd need Bosh back to win it all. They are small and not deep as it is. But the East should still be a cakewalk. The Pacers don't have the talent to knock them off and the 76ers/Celtics series has a classic 7 game beat the hell out of each other feel to it.
So it might just come down to can Bosh get back to face either the Spurs or the Thunder. If so, I'd say they have a good shot at it. Without him I'd take the West in 5 games.
I want this prick to keep swinging and missing. I'm dead serious when I say I'd rather see the Steelers win another Super Bowl than see Lebron win a title. I hate him that much.

What they should do is trade Lebron for Dwight Howard. They would have the right mix then.

LeBron ended last night with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals, and a loss. This is great for 2 reasons.
1. Miami fans (and anyone else) who didn't understand what Cavs fans meant when we talked about "empty triple doubles" are learning. All those ESPN talking heads who pointed to LeBron's stat line in playoff losses as proof that Cleveland never gave him any talent to work with, and used that to justify the decision, can suck on this game. Guess the Heat don't have enough talent around him.
2. This is exactly the kind of shit that makes his little bitch heart quit. He doesn't come back and try harder. He doesn't try to lift up his team mates - he resents them, and he shuts down. Maybe Wade or Riley have a firm enough hand on him t keep shit from getting ugly, but I doubt it.

Bosh is more valuable to the Heat than DWade.

Dwade should be suspended for that cheap shot.

If I had Dan Gilbert money LeBron would have artificial knees by now.

Dwade should be suspended for that cheap shot. How isn't he? The guy is turning into the dirtiest player in the league and getting away with it. I can think of 3 plays this year that anybody else does and they are at least fined.

^ Bingo. And you could see why. How much discussion with the NBA playoffs get in here if the Heat are eliminated this round? We'll all be happy for a day, and then start looking at Browns TC stuff.

And that's why every year I become more disenchanted with the NBA. It's really the only league that has such a discrepancy between how it treats it's top teams and players.
Also, I think my opinion on Wade has changed much more than my opinion on LBJ. Deep down we all knew James was a douche, we just turned a blind eye to it. I always liked and even respected his game. Lately he just comes off as a prick with anger issues. What also cracks me up is you don't see any of them in the ads that you did before they joined forces. Just a dumb move all the way around.

I'll admit it, the only reason I am paying attention is for the Heat. I'm rooting for the Celtics, Spurs & Thunder to make quick work of their series just because of that. Once the Heat are gone I might flip on a game if bored or if its a Game 7, etc.

I think MLB is worse, but yeah, the NBA is certainly still in the suck column. So disappointing- Stern had a chance to really fix things with the lockout and he blew it. Another decade of the inmates running the asylum because he didn't want to lose a couple months of gate revenue. It's a shame. I could care less about Wade. He plays like hey cares, and he recruited big names to join his team. Wish our guy had ever done either of those things.

You can see what the Pacers bench thought of LeBron last night.

Lebron is such a pussy. He runs to be at Wade's side in Miami then backs off to him even though he's the better player.
Twitter was blowing up last night like the Cavs had just won a playoff game. Pretty fun.

Can anyone give me a good reason why the Heat didn't play yesterday, but LAL and OKC played the second part of a back to back? Makes zero sense. They had to rush and change the floor from the Clippers Spurs game. Does Stern just enjoy everyone thinking the league is fixed?

Heat come out cold. LeBron's the only one doing anything for them. More turnovers than field goals so far. Hibbert is making himself a ton of cash in this series. The Heat are making him look like Patrick Ewing in his prime.

Bleh. Indy had this game and choked it away in the second half. Disappointing.

Pretty much a foregone conclusion Miami will in the finals. The Celts have clearly tried to manage through the Philly series to save their energy for Miami. I'll be rooting for whichever team comes out of the west.

Go Spurs Go.
Popovich is the best chance of stopping the Heat now.

The Thunder should be able to take them too but yeah the Spurs are the best shot.
I hope that fuck Bosh has a setback.
I don't expect the Celtics to take them but if Bosh is out there is a chance. Garnett being the key.
