For anyone who cares. I think the Cavs have a better plan in place than the Browns IMO. The Cavs are thinking young and are actually finding the RIGHT players for their system. Last year Scott I was too hard on and looking back I should have realized with the talent they had and the way the season before went with Lebron no coach stood a chance.
The Cavs are doing the right thing in not making a move right away and just seeing what fits and what needs to be in place for the moment. Right now keep a nice blend of veterans(Andy, Jamison, Parker) for now. The time will come soon enough when Parker and Jamison will be gone. But for now this early in the season have them teach the rookies how to be professionals.
Continue to move Lebron supporters out of the locker room minus Andy. Gibson can stay as long as he is hitting three's plus we need someone to back up Parker. Now to the rookies. I absolutely loved the Irving pick and love Sessions starting. For a number of reason but plus not to rush Irving into the starting spot. I think as of right now Irving is clearly the better player with potential slightly under Paul, but let him learn the game first.
I think Irving will eventually grow into a top 5 pick. Now the pick of Thompson I didn't like at all. I love his defense and offensive rebounding, but the 50% percent at the free throw line means he will never be more than a role player. You can't play him in the 4th. His post game is far away from having any moves and I think he relies too much on his athletic ability than being physical on defense.
My breakout player is Samardo Samuels. I think this man is a beast. The sooner Jamison is gone hopefully for a pick the sooner he can play 35 minutes a game. Him and Andy are a nightmare for opposing bigs. They play the game the right way. Samuels is still learning and improving every night on position and how to get to the foul line. Irving and Samuels on the 2nd team will be fun to watch.
A player I really love is Gee. The guy is everywhere on the court. He plays like he is 6 ft 10. Offensive boards, attacking the basket, if he could only develop a shot. I think the Cavs will be very fun to watch this season. I hope they continue to stand pat with what they have now and only make trades that impact the future and not now. Stockpile as many picks as you can.
I didn't mention Casspi because I feel he is just a role player. A very young and decent one but I'm not expecting anything more than 10 pts per game.
Thoughts. Go Cavs.
