Anyone else watch this? I caught most of last season & just watched the season 2 premier earlier.
I've never read the comic book series so just from the TV series I'm liking it.

Yeah we dig it, despite two of the main characters being named "Carl" and "T-Dog".
On the plus side, it seems every other episode Carl gets lost and they all have to run around yelling: "CARL! CARL!"

It's a guilty pleasure... I watch it pretty much to marvel at how such a band of clueless dimwits manage to survive from week to week. I'd find me a Humvee with an M-60 or a SAW on a pintle or turret mount on the roof, gas that bastard up, tell the blonde, "Ass, gas or grass, nobody rides for free..." and then ditch the rest of that pack of idiots ASAP. Grab a portable generator from a deserted suburban Lowe's (just the ticket for knocking the covers off gas pumps and powering up the pump), hit every small town gun shop I could find to stock up on 7.62mm, shotgun and .45 rounds, loot some canned goods and get the hell out of Dodge. Another fair to middlin'; idea would be to hit the dive shops and see if there were any of those stainless steel mesh shark suits around (try chewing on that, you zombie pricks!). Just for the occasional walk in the park for target practice, mind you... Ft. Benning wouldn't be a bad idea for starters, or perhaps the Savannah sub base, or Warner Robbins AFB as most-likely destinations to look for people that don't look like MKC on the wrong end of a zoom lens. If not, I'd keep moving until I was someplace they weren't. I'd be one zombie-shootin' sumbitch, I can assure you of that.

Never saw the series you're talking about but I absolutely love the George Romero original "Night of the Living Dead".
I was a kid the first time I saw that movie and it scared the livin' bejesus out of me. I still can't go into a graveyard alone and not look around after the opening scene. "They're coming to get you Barbara".
There are so many cool scenes in that movie it's hard to name my favorites but the half eaten ladies face that's at the top of the stairs is one. Then when they try to go out and fill up the truck with gas, get fried in the truck and the zombies eat the turkey legs is another great one. Also the fight for whether upstairs or downstairs is the better place to be in the house is pretty cool and thought provoking.
I ALWAYS watch it when it's on around Halloween. A classic.

I love the Dead movies BttB. Night of the Living Dead was great. I couldn't wait for the asshole father to get it & found it amusing that it was his daughter now a zombie eating him. I pretty much love all zombie movies to a certain extent. You can watch the season two premier of The Walking Dead on the net for free. www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-deadThey are also replaying it Friday night on AMC.

That's how I watched it. I was in no condition to watch & absorb it Sunday evening after the Browns game. I had already absorbed too much alcohol.

Love the show, AMC rocks. Hell on Wheels is good too. I just assume everyone on planet Earth watches Breaking Bad, the best show on TV next to Dexter.
AMC's The Killing is a must watch as well, they will re-air season 1 soon.

This really has been done better: ...though I do enjoy watching it as an intellectual exercise in what I'd do differently - which is pretty much everything. eta: edited bullshit YouBoob embed link...

Actually I credit/blame Omega Man for my love/obsession of plague/zombie movies, shows, stories etc.

And apparently right afterward there's a comic book show with Kevin Smith.
Needless to say it's possible I watch that.

I read the comics and watch the show. The show is good but they have taken a lot of liberties with the source story (new characters, leaving out parts of arcs, etc).
It seems to me the last couple of episodes just kind of stalled and it was something that should be a quick story but takes 3 episodes.
If you get a chance to read the comics check them out.

I've learned to completely suspend source material in my mind, and just enjoy what I'm watching.
The latest X-Men movie for me was a big ret-con hurdle, but I realized that this is the way my kids are going to think the story happened, so instead of being a big knob, I just roll with it.
