Hey Voodoo or anybody that likes Lynyrd Skynyrd. Found this set from a British television music show back in '75.
Having never got the chance to see them live but them being such an influence on my early musical leanings I found this performance really intriguing.
It's a weird setting and almost more like a "showcase" than a "concert" or "show". Anyway, have at it.
Or not. Up to you!

God I miss Ronnie. I'll definitely listen to this tonight. You'll get a kick out of it. I still remember where I was standing when I heard about the plane crash. I had the "Second Helping" Album and on the back of it it said Gary Rossington played a "Gibson Les Paul Deluxe". Went out and bought one (actually a custom) as my 1st real guitar because of that. Got some southern rock roots in me from early on.

I was still living in Cleveland and was 13 years old I think maybe 14. I delivered the PD and heard the news at 4:00 AM when I was getting ready to deliver news papers. I will never forget that.

That and the Stevie Ray Vaughn crash. Don't even get me started. I know right where I was for that one too. Horrible. We're like brothers from another mother.... or something..

I guess it may not so special for the locals attending (except for the band/s) but for the musicians and people who travelled to go had to be in complete awe.

It was. A former bandmate and buddy of mine is a business partner with Dan Catullo the guy that put it all together.
He kept telling me how cool it was going to be and when it was coming up on PBS. (last weekend) I missed it and Googled it last night.
Don't care for some of Dave's slower songs they did, but when they rock they really kill it. Taylor Hawkins is a fucking beast on the drums. Love that guy.
Part of the charm for me is the unpretentious of the band. Love the collared shirts on the guitar players. LOL

Yeah I like how they seem to be so laid back and don't appear to take themselves so serious and uptight. Bands like Metallica start off that way but success goes to their heads and next thing you know it's all about the money and so on.
Van Halen got that way without David Lee Roth. They got to the point where they would only play huge venues like stadiums and stuff.
