I love scallops. I love seafood. Including sushi. Mmmmm sushi. I'd kill for a spicy tuna hand roll right now.

Sushi to me is a good app before a real meal. I can't eat 30 pieces of it like the folks at Sushi Rock, etc. BTW, when did sushi become so hip with people in their 20s and 30s? Must have been right after Texas Hold 'em did. Who makes these rules on what is the new fad? Maybe we can create a new fad.

Actually, I was eating sushi back in 1987 in Studio City, CA at a place on Lankershim Blv. That was called "Tokyo Delve". They had these lights that went all around the tables like Christmas lights and they were hooked up to a wooden spinning wheel that they ceremoniously called "The Lucky Lamp".
When they spun the wheel the light in front of you would light up and if it stopped on your table/seat your meal was paid for up until that time. It was a real party atmosphere with music and stuff. That was my first "real" sushi experience and I loved it.

Yeah but I'm talking in Ohio. You can't tell me in 1987 it was hip for 25 year olds to go to a sushi restaurant.
20 years later you were a weirdo if you didn't want to go.

My thoughts exactly. While I love to fish I can't eat any seafood or fish.

Your going to love it. It doubles as a night light. Have you had any instances where something may have been mislabeled or anything? Here is what our "chives" look like. They don't look anything like chives I've ever seen. I've always seen chives as this

anybody ever cook a brisket? i'm going home at lunch today to pop one in the oven, any ideas? Slow & low. Brisket can be very tough if cooked too fast. I've never done one in the oven. I've always smoked them. Find a good rub you like & let it cook. We do that with ribs a lot in the oven. Hell just using the local grocery's sweet & smoky pork rub is wonderful.

Hey Voodoo - smoke it and see what happens. You never know. I've given that a thought but it doesn't look like that type of thing either. I did taste it & it had sort of an oniony flavor which chives have as well but it looks like no chive I've ever seen.

If it's basil it's one of my favorites. You'll be able to identify it in a few weeks. Good for soups, roasts or raw with tomatoes, olive oil and cheese. Had some last night with some provolone. I just did a herb 3 pod with thyme, basil and dill (dill is great over fish wrapped in foil with butter salt and pepper). The basil is the only plant still going 3 1/2 months later. Right when my backyard tomatoes are getting ripe. <smile> Never had any mislabeled yet.

Yeah we were pretty sure it wasn't chives. Hell at one point it had a couple long leaves that looked like dandy lion leaves. Here is the whole set up. They were planted two weeks ago from Sunday. (last Sunday so about 17 days) Back row left to right Dill, Basil, Parsley & Tarragon. Front row left to right Thyme, Cilantro & our mystery weed or as it's labeled Chives.

Nice. The dill grows real tall and it's never to early to prune that basil. It also grows tall. The thyme kind of falls over and creeps. When they all were growing good it was nearly impossible to make enough things to use up enough of the old to let the new growth come in.
Get ready to get creative.... but hey, it's a good thing.

Went home at lunch today to brown and braise some pork ribs in beer, onions and brown sugar. Gonna let them cook for about 7 hours, take em out, lube em up with some sweet baby rays bbq sauce and toss them on the grill for a couple minutes.

Beef kabobs with onions and peppers = underrated.
The onions when they soak up the juice? Good as fuck.

I just started liking onions about 8 months ago. Always liked to cook with them but could never eat them.
