It's a part of history now. It's not like it didn't happen if we don't mention it. Meh. I was going to get political but I don't have the energy.

I'm loving me some Gregg Williams. I mean, I'm really loving me some Gregg Williams. "Veteran Presence There’s no doubt about it, Gregg Williams had a huge part in this signing. During his time with the Titans, McCourty worked a lot with Williams, who now coaches the Browns. Now, does this say more about McCourty or Williams? Well, it’s really both. Gregg Williams has a resume in the NFL that is getting increasingly hard to ignore. Outside of the years-old Bountygate scandal, Williams has been an impeccable coach. While with the New Orleans Saints, Williams played a pivotal part in bringing the Saints their first Super Bowl win. Sure, a lot of the credit goes to Drew Brees, but Williams was an integral part. Following that, Williams was an assistant coach for the Tennessee Titans in 2013. While there, he worked with and mentored McCourty, turning him into the cornerback that he is today. Now, Jason McCourty was a sixth-round pick in 2009. Outside of Tom Brady, not a lot of sixth-rounders “make it” in the NFL. Of course, quarterback and cornerback are two very different positions. However, this doesn’t change the fact that McCourty’s development only strengthens the resume of Gregg Williams. With the two reunited in Cleveland for 2017, maybe they can give the ever-injured Joe Haden some help in the secondary." lastwordonprofootball.com/2017/05/16/jason-mccourty-signs-cleveland-browns/

The case against our 6th round pick was dropped so it looks like we got a 1-2 round pick in the 6th.

Brantley. Couldn't think of his name. The whole incident sounded fishy to me to start with.

Worth noting that even before this particular incident Brantley was off many draft boards as his college coaches advised teams not to draft him. That he wasn't the sort of person you want in your organization. We shall see.

Obviously I'm rooting for his success. Ryan Tucker did some fucked up shit in college too but turned things around for himself. Hopefully Brantley will take this opportunity to follow a similar path.

The Browns released a statement on behalf of Brantley. “I’m grateful for today’s ruling,” Brantley’s statement read. “I won’t take the opportunity the Browns have given me for granted and now I can shift all my focus to working hard to make this football team while also showing my teammates, coaches, the organization and this community the type of person I really am.” www.sbnation.com/2017/5/17/15654540/caleb-brantley-assault-charge-dismissed-browns-nfl-draft-2017

They seriously upgraded the defensive line if these guys pan out. Garrett, the third round guy from NC and Brantley were all outstanding in college.

Develop these young kids, take your lumps this year and they legit could be onto something in a year or two.

They did exactly what I was hoping they would do in free agency by addressing the offensive line. The draft can be a crap shoot for sure but on paper they knocked it out of park.
