Life insurance company drops Josh McCown after he is named Browns QB CLEVELAND — Josh McCown has been named starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns for Week 2, but he will be risking the well-being of his wife and children if he does so. The veteran quarterback was informed today by his life insurance company that they will refuse to cover his policy if he takes the field. “Obviously, it’s not an ideal situation and is something I need to think about,” said McCown. “It’s a rare opportunity to be able to play quarterback in the NFL. But on the other hand, it’s the Browns. And then there’s this life insurance issue now, too.” medium.com/sportspickle/life-insurance-company-drops-josh-mccown-after-he-is-named-browns-qb-44e8daf8c85c#.25i9mjanr

Looks like BTTB was right and Tommy was wrong again. Tommy liked Chip Kelly & BttB hated him. Guy looked great tonight. I will wait for the garbage man to to even up the score. Lol. Manziel fan fat loser.

LOL
Chip Kelly ruined the Eagles with his narcissistic attitude/approach and is lucky to have a job in the NFL.
Jared Goff couldn't beat out Case Keenum on this shitty team? Oh my..

Your comments to my statement and you think he added to your point. holy shit---classic Tommy Wentz is going to be great. Goff is a bust. Chip Kelly is great. This is all confirmed after week one, correct? Or do you think we should give it more than a week? The only thing we got confirmed so far is the RG3 project is done, but that has nothing to do with Wentz. The Browns didn't not draft Wentz because of RG3. They didn't because they didn't believe he was going to be a franchise QB. Will that be correct? TBD. Or we can say it was wrong after one week vs a horrendous D because why not overreact to it?

So what? Nothing has changed. The Browns didn't mortgage the future with RG3. They traded nothing to get him. It was a long shot and he got hurt again. They were going to blow with him and they will blow without him. Signing him had nothing to do with not taking Wentz. It had to do with Wentz (who is also injury prone).
Now they are back to last year's starting QB. Who will probably also get hurt relatively quickly. At least I don't have to read all the hate about the Browns starting QB going forward.

Stop throwing shit into the fan Tommy. All the fluff just smells shitty. BTTB was not shy about RG3, he was right. Guy didn't even make it one game.

What you gained in fantasy football is points for Gary Barnidge if you have him.

Fine I'll say it; Barnidge kept dropping Bob's passes because he's racist. He only wants to catch white passes.

Guy didn't even make it one game. & after one game we are right back to where we were last year, McCown at QB. What did you lose? A possible starting QB and another fucking year. A starting QB that could have been drafted. But who needs that right? We're right back where we were a year ago. I was fully ready to suck it up and admit RGIII beat Philly by 14 points and Wentz is a bum. You were right. (which would happen either way) Look, I know Wentz will struggle. He'll have shitty games and I'm sure you'll point that out to me. It's going to happen. Maybe this week. But you said RGIII had nothing to do with Wentz. I disagree. If Hue Jackson wanted Wentz there never would have been an RGIII. (which was what I wanted. Wentz mentored by McCown) Hue passed on a guy that to me in last Sunday's game looked COACH-ABLE by a so called "QB Guru". Yet He chose a QB with a history of injuries and questionable NFL skills. THEN he chose Cody Kessler with a 3rd RD PICK and says "you'll just have to trust me on this one" when questioned by the media. All this could come back to bite him in the ass when Cody is playing in a snow storm in December and getting blown out by 30.

All this could come back to bite him in the ass when Cody is playing in a snow storm in December and getting blown out by 30. I don't even understand your comments let alone your argument. Signing RG3 had nothing to do with not drafting Wentz is what I'm telling you. If they loved Wentz as a prospect they would have drafted him no matter which long shot QB they signed (if anyone). Let's be clear RG3 was never a sure thing franchise QB when signed. If he was he would have never been on the open market. This wasn't the same guy flats and I wanted to draft. He was a project. A Hail Mary. It didn't work. Oh well. They don't think Wentz is a franchise QB. They liked the idea of a taking a weapon in the 1st and getting more draft picks to stock pile, including another 1st next year that can be taken on a QB if needed. Did they love Goff? Maybe, who knows, not enough to move up to #1 for so they weren't 100% with me either. In the long term could this decision look terrible? Sure. Could it look great? Yes. How? Coleman turns out to be a stud WR, a few of these other picks like Nassib, Ogbah & Schobert continue to grow and they hit on both of next year's 1st including a QB. Moving up and taking a QB isn't a sure thing. Just ask the Jets and their sure thing trade up to #5 and take franchise QB Mark Sanchez. The Browns didn't see a QB worth it at 2, so they are building around the position 1st (a mikey move) in what is a long term build, and they have told us that. The Browns didn't love a QB at 2 in this draft. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RG3. JUDGING THAT MOVE AFTER ONE WEEK IS A VERY TONY GROSSI/TWITTER/FAST FOOD MOVE.

So you're saying that even if Hue LIKED Wentz or they got Goff they still would have signed RGIII?
My point is.. so far Wentz looks like he can make the throws. Looks like he could be coached up. Looks like he was worth a shot.
1999 to 2016. 17 years and the Browns haven't gotten any better. The difference from then and now? Then we had a QB. Now we don't.

So you're saying that even if Hue LIKED Wentz or they got Goff they still would have signed RGIII? March 9th, 2016 - Eagles sign Chase Daniel to 3 year, $21 million deal. Will compete to start. March 24, 2016- Browns sign RG3 to a 2 year, $16 million deal. Will compete to start. April 20, 2016 - Browns trade 2nd pick to Eagles April 28, 2016- Eagles select Carson Wentz 2nd overall One team liked him. One team didn't. My point is.. so far Wentz looks like he can make the throws. Looks like he could be coached up. Looks like he was worth a shot. So could Weeden. They didn't like something. I'm guessing its in line with what made me question if he was worth the 2nd pick. He put up so so numbers with a FCS school that had more talent than any other FCS school. Throwing to wide open WRs & had an injury history. Far from a sure thing at pick #2. 1999 to 2016. 17 years and the Browns haven't gotten any better. The difference from then and now? Then we had a QB. Now we don't. I'm the last person you have to tell that we need a QB. Doesn't mean Wentz was the right pick at #2. All I was saying was BTTB didn't like RG3 and Tommy did, nothing to do with Wentz or Goff. basics people basics RG3 came in here, worked his ass off, and was voted team captain. Got hurt again. Did I want him when he was in the draft? Yep. I have also wanted a lot of guys that have worked out. His career started out great but he has struggled to adjust and stay healthy. It happens. I still see no set back in signing him and seeing if he could find it again. Now we are back to McCown and still have 2 picks in next year's first round. The whole argument whether you want it to or not does go back to Wentz. BttB thinks the reason we don't have Wentz is RG3. I say that's just not true.
