I'm just looking at it from the other side and i'm finding it hard to let a team in that isn't playing for the championship in their of conference. Does playing in it matter if you lose or do you have to win it in your opinion?

Of course every scenario would be different but in most cases you should win.

If you have 2 teams ranked in the top 4 and their both undefeated going head to head i can see a scenario where both teams would make the playoffs.

1. Bama 2. OSU 3. TTUN 4. Clemson
Pretty amazing Michigan & Clemson are at 3 & 4 after losses.
5. Louisville 6. Washington 7. Wisconsin 8. Penn State
Pretty clear which is the best conference this year.

So the Bucks are in. Right? It would be nice if VA Tech and Colorado both win and make the process a little easier.

I think we are in but i'd be pissed if the tables were turned. I don't know if i can 100% agree with us being in but i can't 100% disagree either.
I find it really hard to allow a team into the playoff that can't even win their own conference.
I also find it really hard to allow a 2 loss team in over a 1 loss team.
In the end, Ohio State is the money maker and have proven that they can beat the top competitors.

The Buckeyes played 4 teams in the top 9, 3 being on the road and went 3-1. If not for that stupid decision to run their kicker out there for that FG vs Penn State, they'd be undefeated. Nobody matches that resume. Hell, think about this, if Penn State wins and gets in they will have 2 losses, one being to Pitt and the other a shit stomp to Michigan. How would you feel if you were Michigan watching Penn State go? Michigan's two losses were on final plays on the road to Iowa and OSU. It will never happen but what I'd like to see happen is to eliminate these Championship Games. Just have a regular season champ. That would make expanding to a 8 team playoff that much easier.

Like i said, it could go either way and there is plenty of information to back either decision. I try flopping spots, and 9 out of 10 people would be bitching if OSU was in Penn St. situation and were sitting on the outside looking in when they beat Penn St. and Penn St. wasn't even playing in the conference championship. You can tell me you would say Penn State should be in the playoffs if the situation was flipped but i know you would be lying whether you meant to or not.

If Ohio State lost to Pitt and got beat by Michigan 49-10 I would not expect to be in the playoffs.

They've literally beaten nobody but the Buckeyes on that blocked kick (the game somebody here attended)

How about the Michigan State team that OSU and Michigan struggled to beat? If anybody has Urban's number it's Dantonio. And Michigan is Michigan's States rivals. Records go out the door. Either way both won.

New rankings have OSU at #2, Washington at #4, Michigan at #5, & Penn State at #7.
We are in. Penn State is screwed. Michigan is alive.

Washington punched their ticket last night. One spot remains. Clemson wins, they have it. They lose & it opens the door to the 3 other Big Ten schools.

Last college football game Verne Lunquist ever does is coming near the end. One of my all time favs. He is still going to do the NCAA tourney & the Masters apparently.
