I never draft a backup QB or TE. I'll just play the matchup game when the bye week comes.

I really want to go pick up Dion Lewis because it sounds like Belichick is going to use him as the 3rd down passing back. (Shane Vereen) He may get a lot of balls thrown to him especially near the endzone. When Bill says he likes you that's something. I can't decide who I would dump though, and if I did.. it would be the wrong guy I'm sure. Belichick: "Dion had a good spring; he had a good offseason program, did a nice job in (organized team activities),'' Belichick said. "He's learned really all of our offense, all three downs, plus some stuff in the kicking game. Yeah, he's done a good job. He's picked things up well. He's been healthy for the most part, other than one week there in training camp. But he's been out, he's gotten a lot of work in and that's been good for a guy who missed the season last year. He's done a good job. I like him." www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Patriots-coach-Bill-Belichick-praises-Albany-s-6479015.php

Never trust Bill when it comes to running backs. Good point. But if I had an extra spot he would be my guy. I think that's half the battle throughout the season. Getting that guy or 2 or 3 that no one else saw coming. Did that last year with Beckham and C.J.Anderson late. They both helped me win the championship last year and neither were drafted. It's a lot more fun than I thought it would be a few years ago when I started this shit. Now I'm nearly possessed. Never thought I'd be scouring the wavier wire for players on my phone...

Just from personal experience. Seemed like I always wind up needing to add a WR or RB in the first week or two, either due to injury or just because someone on waivers blew up in an unexpected starting role or whatever. And every time that happened I would end up choosing to drop my shitty backup TE or QB to make room. I know that Vernon Davis or Andy Dalton aren't going to suddenly become big time fantasy options, so I may as well use those two slots on those DGB types. If they don't pan out I can drop them come my QB's bye week and find a Flaco or Dalton type with a decent matchup that week.

Just an 8 team league, which usually means it's too damn easy to find good players on the FA market, so we use two flex players and have plenty of bench spots to make it a bit more competitive.
QB - Matt Stafford, Cam Newton RB - LeVeon Bell, Carlos Hyde, Chris Ivory, Doug Martin, Joseph Randle WR - Calvin Johnson, Randall Cobb, Keenan Allen, Vincent Jackson, Allen Robinson, Eric Decker, Steve Smith TE - Jimmy Graham K - Mason Crosby Def - Miami
Reaching on Graham cost me dearly at QB, so when Newton was still around late I broke my own rule and brought in a backup. I chose Stafford from the rest of the "meh" guys because I could pair him with Megatron at least. I was kinda hoping I wouldn't have to make a decision on Bell, with him being out the first couple weeks (and a Steeler), but he fell to 4 and I couldn't pass. I figured Chris Ivory was a good choice to fill in for him on week one, seeing as we can't contain the run at all.

But taking him left me with either a lack of elite talent at WR or RB depending on which way I went. Felt like it took me off my game plan. The guy that drafted Gronk in my league ended up with DeShawn Jackson & Golden Tate. Not bad but... Didn't want Bell last year either, but he helped me considerably. Great pick even without 2 games. Gotta play the matchups. (Ivory)

Dez is great. Kelce will get you good receiving #'s too (wish I'd just settled for Kelce a round later than Graham, instead of reaching and then watching Brees, Wilson, Manning, and Romo go off the board before I picked again).
But of the rest of your guys I wouldn't be shocked if none of them went for more than 700 yards and 5 tds. Last year was an exception to the rule, but rookie wideouts are usually underwhelming. I took a chance last year giving a slot to Kelvin Benjamin and it paid off, but I wouldn't stack my roster with rookies. But then, I'm in an 8 team league vs you in a 12, so I'm probably spoiled. You'll have to wait on Martavis Bryant, but maybe he can hit full stride through your playoff run. If your Championship is week 17, he's obviously a must start.

I hate registering new online accounts. Can't you just send me ten bucks a week through PayPal? I'm already on that.

I'm quite pleased with my week one performance. Ivory and Hyde secured the win even with Keenan Allen being on my bench.
