Don't forget who is the new head coach in Buffalo. That explains the Nassib thing. Outside of that, "experts" have been saying that he is quickly rising up teams' draft boards. Real draft boards don't change like Kiper and McShay's do. Maybe slightly but dumb comments like Kiper saying, "Manti may have just moved up 15 spots with his new 40 time" is just silly talk.

They may not change as quickly as Kiper and McShay's - but that's because they are different entities. Kiper and McShay's have to represent all teams vs just one's.
But we have seen guys become first round picks based on combine results, so more than boards changing, maybe I should say that after his workouts, teams are considering Nassib a first round pick.

I won't argue that especially after they said he had large hands. You know what that means.
It means cold weather teams will like him you fag.

Certain positions always get overdrafted, qb being the big one. McShay said as much yesterday. On talent alone Smith is a late first round pick, but because of his position, he vaults into top 5.

Greg Cosell of NFL Films characterized Barkley as a fourth-round talent.
“In the NFL, you’ve got to be able to make throws,” Cosell said. “Often in difficult situations against very challenging defenses.”
Honestly, he sounds like a bigger Colt McCoy.
What I don't understand is how anyone ever thought he was a top QB coming out.

So let's say Oakland releases Carson Palmer & Geno Smith goes in front of him (in my scenario to Buffalo).
Do the Raiders reach on a QB at 3 or just come back into the 1st or take one in the 2nd?

Being the Raiders, they'll reach.
And so will another team or two. I think we'll see 3-4 QBs in the first round. It will start a trend.

So who would the Raiders take? Barkley? Nassib? Could Glennon be a sleeper?

So who would the Raiders take? Barkley? Nassib? Could Glennon be a sleeper? Being the Raiders, they'll take Barkley. I think all of those will end up being first rounders, plus EJ Manuel. You have 5, possibly 6 top ten teams looking for a QB with no real great QB prospects but a bunch that should be second round picks. I don't think they'll take the chance of waiting till the second round because they'll all be trying to trade back into the first to get the guy they want. So ultimately, they may have to stand pat and just take guys in the first, or trade back a little bit.

I get what both of you are saying but here's the teams I see drafting a QB high: Jax - maybe Oak - maybe Ari - probably Buffalo - likely NYJ - doubt it So that's only 5 and if any or all of them slide out of the top 9 then the slide should go into the 20s (trade back in) or the 2nd round. It's a very interesting draft IMO as opposed to those that have said this draft sucks. Basically we have no idea what is happening from 1-3 in late March and that's obviously going to setup the rest of the draft.

Jets won't take one high. Maybe 3rd round.
Arizona is the same as the Jets. I think Arians thinks he can win with what he has.
Buffalo will take one with their first pick
Oakland is a wild card as is Jax.
I do believe somebody will trade for Matt Flynn (maybe Buffalo) and that will leave 2 QB's going in the first round. Maybe a 3rd taken late in the first.

Fans obviously think more about Flynn than NFL execs due. He could have been had by anyone last year, and ended up in a city where a rookie beat him out.
He's a backup in this league.

I think the Eagles are looking hard at EJ Manuel as well.
Tommy I totally agree that these teams are probably not desperate to take a QB in the top ten are were probably focusing on guys in the early second.
I really think Geno is the only QB that should go top ten - and only because he is the best of a shitty class, I don't think he is top ten material.
But now you put the the other 3 (possibly as many as five) teams all eyeing the QBs to take with their second round pick.
These QBs SHOULD slide all the way to the second unless someone trades up to get one. But since there are enough that will be looking at the second round for a QB, I think they will realize that trading up is a necessity. Then you have to factor that all these teams will recognize that the others are thinking the same thing. I think one team (Raiders) will likely get desperate and just take a QB in the top ten. This will cause the others to get antsy and not want to risk waiting to the second or risk planning on trading back up because someone else may beat them out and it will create a run.

I agree, the Jaguars or Raiders could potentially set every mock draft on fire. And then we could see 4 or 5 go before the top half of the draft is done.
But just as likely IMO is we see Geno go up top and see no other QB go until about 25.

True, but when teams don't even have an adequate back up and with this weak draft class, guys like Flynn start to seem realistic.

The Jags will likely go offensive line in the first, then best available QB in 2nd. I think we'll see a lot of QBs go in the last 3rd of the first round.

Per @jasonlacanfora, Matt Flynn heading to Oakland in a trade. Expect Carson Palmer to be released soon.
