Then I started looking at PS3 and Xbox again. I am clueless when it comes to making a decision between the two.

I like the PS3 controller better I think. It resembles my Logitech layout. 4G vs 160G vs 250G vs 320G? Then I read people are getting the 4G and adding flash drives or extra hard drives.

Hell, all I played was Madden and our NASCAR sim, which doesn't factor in.

PS3 has Blu-ray, free online play but Xbox has better online gaming ($) and some different games.

Then.. the PS4 is coming out later this year.

Let me give this 08 another try on the PC.....

Yes. Tried EVERY setting there too. Windows thinks WinXP SP3 of course but I tried all the options.
It comes up in 640 X 480 on the load screen and then when I hit play it just dies and I end up back on my desktop. The CD never runs.

I've got one more thing to try. Put my old hard drive in and move the files intact to WIN 8. Some people got that to work.

Or you could use that second hard drive to dual boot your system and just reboot and jump into XP when you want to play.

(Didn't work copying the files. I get nada out of the DVD drive when I execute the file.)

How do I do that? Leave it as is or re-install XP? All I did was pull it out. Never had a duel boot system before. Will my MB ask me? or will I choose in the BIOS?

You can try that, but the easiest way to do it is install Win 8 while the XP drive is already in the boot order.

On my sisters machine that I recently upgraded I just left ehr XP drive alone and added a second drive and installed Win 7. Then when you reboot it asks for a few seconds which OS you want, Win 7 or "earlier versions".
